Cell Phone and Home Phone Signs

Just wondering if anyone has gotten any messages from your loved ones via phone.

My dad died August 6, 2009. Dad used to always want me to call him when I returned to my house from his just to let him know I got home safely. Two hours after he passed away, we were all still at his house and I had just sat down at his desk and put my cell phone down on the desk. I was speaking to my brother, and I got a tone telling me that I had a voice message. I thought that was strange because my phone had not rang. I listened to it and it was a message from my dad. He had called me a couple of weeks before because I hadn't called him yet after I got home and he was worried. He said that he was just checking on me to make sure that I had made it home okay, etc. It was so wonderful to hear his voice. I feel that he was telling me that HE made it "home" okay!

I couldn't understand how this would happen, so I called the phone company and asked what would make me get that message again without me trying to get it. They said that sometimes there are outages which causes this. I asked her to check the location, time, etc. and see if there were any outages. She told me,"no", and to consider this devine.

She said that you wouldn't believe the strange things that happen with cell phones after loved ones pass away.

The evening after my dad's funeral, I was talking to him and feeling really badly because I had accidentally deleted his message. As I was talking to him, our home phone rang, and on the caller ID on the phone, it read, "00000000 and No Name". I don't know what in the world this was and I've never seen this before without a number. There may be a logical reason for these two things happening, but the timing for both were amazing. I take it being Dad telling me, "It's nothing, don't worry about anything". I hope so!

It seems very typical of Dad sending an electronic message. He dealt with electronics for many years.

I loved reading about the signs you're received, Lulie. I believe they were from your Dad.

A friend of mine died in 2008 and as we were driving to my parent's for Thanksgiving dinner that year I noticed a trailer that belonged to my friend's employer parked in a storage lot and was thinking how weird that was (it hadn't been there the day before) and at that very moment I get a text message from a unfamiliar number. It just said "Hi!". I've had that phone for 5 years and have only got 1 other text message and that was from my daughter (yes, I am behind on the times. lol). Maybe it was just some kid goofing around or maybe it was my friend saying "Hi" from the otherside? The timing was perfect anyhow.

I've heard that electrical energy seems to be conducive to use by spirits or whatever they are.

Years ago, I had just gotten a musical Christmas card from a dear friend (there was a little metal button-type thing inside the card, & when you opened the card, music would play) when I learned that the friend had died suddenly.

That night, I heard music playing.

The card was lying on the coffee table, closed, playing its little tune.

Interesting discussion on Good Morning America this morning about how a brain works while driving and talking on cell phones. Study proves that because cell phone quality fluctuates when motorists struggled to listen the right parietal cortex which deciphers sounds went into overdrive. This takes away from other abilities normally peformed by the brain such as interpreting what you see. This means the attention is taken away from vision and even though your eyes are in front of you and its a bright sunny day your not going to process that visual information as well. Maybe that's why I was almost in a headon with that idiot!!!!!

Don't know about T-Mobile, but if they're anything like Verizon, the phone is locked so that it will only work with their service. I'd check with T-Mobile customer service.

I have AT&T. I lost my new phone after having it less than a month! I was so mad at myself. I'm pretty sure I know where I lost it, but of course, someone else more than likely picked it up before I got back to check. I did not have insurance. DH does, since he is hard on phones - but I certainly have insurance on the replacement, LOL! Anyway, my contract would not allow for a new phone for free (or greatly reduced price) until this coming October, no exceptions. So I got a less expensive (translated nicer/user friendly) phone than I wanted for now and will get the one I want in October. Yes, AT&T sells refurbished phones, but the irony is that the phone I had sold new for $160 and the refurbished one sold for - get this - $160! For real.

I can't stand it. 2010 and the super-natural still prevails. Is there no other way to deal with simple grief? Do we always have to deal with spooks?

If you can't stand it, don't be a kill joy and wet another person's blanket. It certainly is no skin off of your back if somebody is comforted by a mysterious phone call.

You're having comprehension problems. I was responding to previous poster's statement -- which I quoted so it wouldn't be missed. That poster didn't say anything about mysterious phone calls-- and neither did I.

Asola, I think that Lulie, Sylvia and I all implied that we believed the things that happened to us were signs from our deceased loved ones (spirits if you will). I'm surprised that you didn't just skip-on-by when you saw the title of this thread if the idea bothers you so much.
