Cell Phone and Home Phone Signs

Just wondering if anyone has gotten any messages from your loved ones via phone.

My dad died August 6, 2009. Dad used to always want me to call him when I returned to my house from his just to let him know I got home safely. Two hours after he passed away, we were all still at his house and I had just sat down at his desk and put my cell phone down on the desk. I was speaking to my brother, and I got a tone telling me that I had a voice message. I thought that was strange because my phone had not rang. I listened to it and it was a message from my dad. He had called me a couple of weeks before because I hadn't called him yet after I got home and he was worried. He said that he was just checking on me to make sure that I had made it home okay, etc. It was so wonderful to hear his voice. I feel that he was telling me that HE made it "home" okay!

I couldn't understand how this would happen, so I called the phone company and asked what would make me get that message again without me trying to get it. They said that sometimes there are outages which causes this. I asked her to check the location, time, etc. and see if there were any outages. She told me,"no", and to consider this devine.

She said that you wouldn't believe the strange things that happen with cell phones after loved ones pass away.

The evening after my dad's funeral, I was talking to him and feeling really badly because I had accidentally deleted his message. As I was talking to him, our home phone rang, and on the caller ID on the phone, it read, "00000000 and No Name". I don't know what in the world this was and I've never seen this before without a number. There may be a logical reason for these two things happening, but the timing for both were amazing. I take it being Dad telling me, "It's nothing, don't worry about anything". I hope so!

It seems very typical of Dad sending an electronic message. He dealt with electronics for many years.

I loved reading about the signs you're received, Lulie. I believe they were from your Dad.

A friend of mine died in 2008 and as we were driving to my parent's for Thanksgiving dinner that year I noticed a trailer that belonged to my friend's employer parked in a storage lot and was thinking how weird that was (it hadn't been there the day before) and at that very moment I get a text message from a unfamiliar number. It just said "Hi!". I've had that phone for 5 years and have only got 1 other text message and that was from my daughter (yes, I am behind on the times. lol). Maybe it was just some kid goofing around or maybe it was my friend saying "Hi" from the otherside? The timing was perfect anyhow.

I've heard that electrical energy seems to be conducive to use by spirits or whatever they are.

Years ago, I had just gotten a musical Christmas card from a dear friend (there was a little metal button-type thing inside the card, & when you opened the card, music would play) when I learned that the friend had died suddenly.

That night, I heard music playing.

The card was lying on the coffee table, closed, playing its little tune.

Don't know about T-Mobile, but if they're anything like Verizon, the phone is locked so that it will only work with their service. I'd check with T-Mobile customer service.

Another thing I really like with prepaid is if you want to change for whatever reason, it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. I tried out several different companies before settling on TracFone. For me, $70/month is significant, fer cryin out loud my service costs 1/10 that LOL, plus I only pay one bill a year instead of 12! Less fiddling around. But to each their own. A friend of mine will turn his phone off too. Don't understand that. I realize that if you just use it to call people and don't want them calling you back, fine. But when you are meeting someone and want to contact them that you might be late or something, it's a bit rude to not have it on. I keep a charger in my vehicle to keep it charged. Charge it while I'm driving if I forget to charge it at home, which I often do. This one goes much longer than my other phones did. Oh and I buy cell accessories on fleabay. Much cheaper than retail.

It depends on the phone and the carriers. There's a number of different types of service out there too. For instance different carriers use different frequencies (CDMA, PCS, GSM, etc) SIM cards are suggestive of GSM technology used by Tmo and ATT. If you're looking to use prepaid service you can sometimes use the phones but won't always have all the features. If you're looking for a contract service, then as cautioned before, beware of costs to change. Often the smallest thing will extend your contract. For instance, if you get a new phone, you generally get a new (extended) contract with hefty cancellation fees. You'll have to get more info from the companies, but generally speaking, Tmo will not be interchangeable with Virgin and Verizon. Tmo & AT&T are more likely to be options. Probably not answering your question, but not an easy question to answer!

Just MPO...unless you need the income from the lease...I would not renew the lease and I would insist the cell phone company remove their tower. Food for thought....at some point in time you may wish to sell the land...all of it...and potential buyers may not wish to have a high cell tower anywhere on the land. Ergo..it will have a detrimental effect on property sale/value. Another thought...if you decide to sell the land...there's really no telling what this current cell phone company...or a future buyer of that cell phone tower company...will do with the land. They could add more towers or communication equipment. They could request a permanent egress route if there isn't one now. How would that effect your privacy/property? Their future equipment might interfere with your home communication/electronic equipment. Local laws may prohibit some things...but this company has a much bigger voice and more money to go back to the town for variances that might not please you. Last of my thoughts but not the least...the tower company/companies might go bust! It's happened in my neck of the woods. They don't have the funds to remove their equipment and the property owner is either stuck with the monstrosity on their property...or to pay for removal themselves [costly]...or to take the defunct company to court for any number of contract infractions requiring them to remove the tower or them pay for its removal. Any way you look at this scenario...it's costly both financially and mentally. All tolled...I personally don't like the deal at all and would extricate myself from the entire project as soon as you legally are able.

I can't stand it. 2010 and the super-natural still prevails. Is there no other way to deal with simple grief? Do we always have to deal with spooks?

If you can't stand it, don't be a kill joy and wet another person's blanket. It certainly is no skin off of your back if somebody is comforted by a mysterious phone call.

You're having comprehension problems. I was responding to previous poster's statement -- which I quoted so it wouldn't be missed. That poster didn't say anything about mysterious phone calls-- and neither did I.

Asola, I think that Lulie, Sylvia and I all implied that we believed the things that happened to us were signs from our deceased loved ones (spirits if you will). I'm surprised that you didn't just skip-on-by when you saw the title of this thread if the idea bothers you so much.
