Hi everyone -- I'm so sorry, I let this thread get away from me after asking for a clarification! I really appreciate all the pictures of your granite sinks. I am still strongly leaning toward warmfridge's anthracite cascade sink. I don't really know why I'm so taken with the sink but it seems to be some weird emotional thing... I can just tell that's the sink I will end up buying though I can't really justify it at all; it just seems like what a sink should be to me. It's a darn good thing those who have it seem to like it, though I doubt I'd like it so much if I'd been reading negative reports. Thanks for the context-pictures.

Chris45ny, all you can do is give me your opinion and I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Westiegirl, glad to hear you have not felt the need to get a sink grid after 4 months. I must say that I am a little suspicious of the HD sink. We hear that often, about items not being the same from super stores - usually faucets & such. Breezygirl, odd how we feel like we know you because we have heard & seen so much from you. I am especially glad you replied because I know you have the same metallic grey color as I do and I knew you didn't start out with a sink grid. I suspect I will hate them too, as I didn't care for them the few times that I washed at other people's sinks with grids & have hated things getting trapped under there & things not able to stand in the sink, etc. Mabeldingeldine, glad to hear you have put that sink through a lot & super hot water to boot. Awesome news! Maybe the problem is in extremely cold areas? I am a little envious of the thought of your garden & even more envious of your chilies! Spicy, my favorite. I have a small outdoor deck where I grow flowers. Nowhere for veggies & such, but I still love tinkering in my little garden. A2gemimi, I haven't forgotten you & I have been lurking late at night. I replied to your PMs so I hope you got my replies. My faucet is centered. You can PM me to see how I like it centered, as things will be too crazy for me to check GW daily. After I move back, I will have to furnish most of my place and I have a 3 year old keeping me very busy. Try me after the weekend - maybe next Tues and check if I have any thoughts on it. I just ordered the precis cascade from Quality Bath. I just didn't really like the shape of the Performa. I took the largest pot I have and put it in my current sink, measured the depth and width of my bowls, etc. I decided that the smaller version would work fine for me because I'm getting a bigger bowl than my 50/50 provides now and the depth will be about the same. Also, I considered the space below for the disposal. With the 10" deep, my disposal would sit almost to the bottom of the cabinet. My kitchen is so small; that storage below is very important to me. I got my sink Saturday and dropped it at the fabricators. I didn't take any photos, but I did save the colander here. It's pretty shallow, but I think it will still be fine to rinse some grapes or dry a coffee mug, etc. I can measure it if you want. The usable space definitely seemed shallower than I expected because I didn't figure in that the top part of it is open (as opposed to mesh).

Thanks so much everyone! I know as much as Blanco sinks get love around here someone would have the answer, but I couldn't find it in the archives. Thanks to those of you who have shared your experience and photos personally, huge help. I see what you mean by not being able to clean the gunk if it has a negative reveal. I haven't had an undermount before so I guess I was thinking that the counter and sink would be flush somehow or sealed together so that there wasn't a space for gunk to get into. Not sure if this makes sense in the reality of fabrication, just what I thought in my head. Very, very helpful to hear from those of you who have actually owned them. Thanks also for the pic Debbi - we are considering white but I wasn't sure about staining or more upkeep. Yours looks great after 5 years!!
