Can a Blanco sink be undermounted to a laminate countertop?
Comments (10)Carolannk~ Thanks for the info. I emailed the guy who owns that site "Scott" and he wouldn't tell me which sink it was. I am not sure what the harm was telling me what brand of sink it is, but he wouldn't. (And he was rather rude about it). Anyway, thanks again. I will check out Swanstone's kitchen sinks. I have a swanstone in my bathroom and really like it. live-wire-oak, I would rather have granite, but the estimate I got was $4500 and my laminate estimate was $1500-2000 (depending on which laminate I choose). DH can't see spending over 4K on countertop. I wouldn't mind checking out Chinese blank slabs, but I really don't know where to look. Not much for granite retailers here. I am sure DH would spend a little more but not over $4K. As far as really wanting a Blanco...I do, but I would settle for any dark colored undermount sink. There just seem to be no dark sinks that can be undermounted in laminate. :(...See MoreBlanco Silgranit drop in Kitchen sink but undermounted
Comments (5)I wish I knew how to post the pics. I was unsure about the undermount, until the Cambria installer came to make the template, he had a glack silgranit sink in his truck, after looking at it in the sunlight, I was hooked, this is a beautiful sink. But very worrisome and iffy on the undermount install. He told me he had never had one complaint on the many had had done. After two days of back and forth on my part, he said "just do it, you will love it". So, I did it. And I have not regretted it, it is beautiful. Wish I was not such a dummy when it comes to uploading the pics....See MoreCan this sink be 'undermounted'? BLANCO 34 x 22 Silgranit
Comments (2)My granite and silgranit sink were installed on Thursday and I tossed and turned all night on Wednesday wondering if my base cabinet was going to be big enough for undermount. I had it in my head that the installer was going to say I mis-measured by a quarter inch so they'd drop it in! As it was, they didn't use the undermount clips but held it up with some kind of wood screwed into the side of the cabinet for support. My sink hole was cut on site (long story) and silgranit epoxied right in my kitchen. BTW, I bought the 511-705 which could be mounted either way. The clips were included but not used....See MorePls measure space below undermount Silgranite sink
Comments (10)Ah, yes, that would make a difference, ctycdm! Our counters will be the standard 36". Thanks, badgergal! I saved the photo of the garbage pull-out that you posted earlier so it's helpful to have the dimension to go with that photo. I saw the minimums listed on Rev-a-Shelf's site but I thought that was for the cab opening and all the photos showed the cans shorter than the door. But since you wrote that you only have 19" and had to trim the can, then I can safely assume that the 19 3/8" clearance required is for the can clearance. I'm considering the same thing in a double can, not a single, so you've helped me figure out that it will work. It will be a squeaker but it will work. Yay! It does, however, mean that I can't get the fancy one with the servo drive. Bummer. But it needs 20 5/8" clearance, which would mean cutting the can down by quite a bit. Oh, well. It would have been nifty to have that but it was also expensive so I'm glad of the $$ savings. btw, did I tell you that I was in Pewaukee in June visiting my aunt and cousin? Do you ever eat at Seester's on the lake? My cousin's daughter worked there over the summer. I always enjoy going back to visit but for once, I wised up and didn't go during the hot, humid days of summer. :)...See Morefarmdrmer
