You could go to one of the Time Capsule websites (dmarie, etc) and get info about popluar things for the year. You could journal the "most important things" that happened for your family. You could TRY to document the saga of the presidential election. You could do an abc page and think of something specific to each letter of memories for the year. These are a few ideas, I hope this helps.

Here are some ideas. Some are mine, some are from magazines.
1. Photograph you and your family, facing backward. Use the title "looking back". Add journaling to highlight some special events
2. create a page that looks like a theater stage with curtains. " "Not" The End...just the start of a beautiful beginning"
3. Have photos of your friends and family enjoying the scrapbook you just finished. "Looking back" works here too.
4. Have photos of people sleeping as if they are exhausted by the events that you have just captured in your book. Use dream bubble/balloons above their heads to add journaling about the events that are special for them
5. Find a nice poem about family...Dmarie has poems for just about everything
6. Create fireworks and use the title "The Grand Finale"
7. Create a film strip/ movie reel and "roll" your credits. Ex...The wonderful husband...played by John Doe or The Best Friend...played by Sally Smith.
8. Make calender pages with some for the months that have special memories for you. Accent them with stickers on the special days or with extra photos of the special events. You can call it "Highlights of 2000"

How about a collage of things that happened during the year? On the last page of my Disney trip album, I put a picture of the kids sleeping in the hotel with their stuffed Disney characters. I made a cloud shape and filled it with bits of pictures from the trip. A lot of these were bits of pictures left from cropping. My title on the page says "When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true."

For an album of a trip we took I typed the date then a short discription of what we did that day, just one or two lines. I put some little pictures cut from the photo scraps (i.e. faces, small picture that was hanging on the wall in room shot, signs, flowers). These were arranged around the typing, printed on coloured paper. You could list by month and put highlights, new years, grannies birthday, company picnic, school play, a sort of look back at the year that was.
