I do this all the time. The secret is to use a software program that has a "stitch" feature. One of my scanners came with a NewSoft Presto! software package that works great. You just scan the two sides of the page (in preview scan, pick a point on the page where the two sides will meet, just slightly overlapped)and open both at the same time in the Stitch window. You indicate which is the right and which is the left side. The software then positions a little box at the edge of the left side and you drag the image in that box over to the right side and line it up and click - the two sides will be joined at that alignment. Another software package that came with my Epson Digital Camera just has you drag and drop files side by side into a grid and it will do all of the pattern matching automatically. It is really designed to merge photographs into panoramic views, but works on any .JPG file. It's calle ImageExpert. Karrie, The majority of the pictures you see at the web sites are done freehand by the owner, although, some people do use the computer to make their backgrounds,titles,journaling etc. I would suggest to take at least 1 scrapbook class and purchase a magazine such as Creating Keepsakes or Memory Makers (their are lots more out there). Michaels has a larg selection of scrapbook supplies and magazines to choose from, I don't know if they offer classes, but most scrapbook supply stores do. I also plan on getting a scanner which I will use for my scrapbooks, mostly for my Heritage Album for the photos, memoribilia etc. I may also use it to scan some of my pages and put them out on the Web :) Hope this helps a little. I use Image Event. That was my choice after checking out a bunch of theh other ones. It has no free hosting, so the majority of the site is relatively clutter free. No ads at all on your albums. Only $24.95 per year. You can also link directly to single images. No bandwidth limits. I like the fact that I can take a paragraph of their code, and place it in my own web page. MD Vaden album choices You can free test Image Event for a week or two. There are a lot of options for displays and control of most colors. I paid an extra one time fee to be able to send 50 meg files in case I want to upload videos that size. That one time fee also permits a permanent boost to 3000 megs storage from the 1500 meg storage. Customer service has been prompt. The site was down only 2 hours that I noticed in 2 years. They seem to cater to a lot of people who are very adept at photography.
