White Jacandra are seldom seen here in WA, and I have been told by a suposedly reliable nursery that all white plants are specially grafted plants and that they were all done by some old bloke who no longer does this process. Is this just some urban myth to justify the enormous price of any available plants? Are white jacandra plants actually grown from seeds? I did see a special variagated plant on sale fo something like $258 in Perth, it was approx 1.2 mt tall. Experience tells me that even short jacaranda plants in nurseries are several years old, has anyone experience of growing white flowered plants from seed?

jlc, that map needs to fix the line through NM. It is snowing at my house right now. It is not supposed to last all day but will likely stick enough to be around tomorrow. Over the weekend, we could be getting up to a foot at my house. If that happens, I likely will not be having anyone over Sunday for a Christmas feast but will have to cook no matter what.

They're OK. I like a "real" tree but doubt I'll ever have another live one. First the cost, second the hassle. I could see having a small white one, or green. Doesn't bother me, I like them all for the most part. I've been looking for a small silver tree similar to the larger ones popular back in the 60s. My aunt had one of the silver aluminum ones with the large red ornaments and complete with the color wheel. Although I really enjoyed the once live trees we had when I was growing up I always liked that tree for some reason. Been waxing nostalgically over that tree for a long time.

Easyrgb.com provides the LCH and RGB values of most commercially available paints. It is a shame that more paint companies don't provide the data to easily compare paint colors. Sherwin Williams does provide the RGB values and those can be mathematically converted to LCH. Knowing what white will work is tricky. Much depends on the light and surrounding colors. If you have very little light true and light or bright whites can often appear gray or dingy. With low light conditions you are often better off with a white that is not a clean, bright white. Colors like Classic Gray, Swiss Coffee, White Dove, Pale Oak and Ballet White often look better in low light conditions. You also want to pick a white that will work well with your counters, floors and back splash. Chantilly Lace is a very neutral, clean, light white. It is the white most often used to compare with other whites to determine undertone. Does it look blue, green, yellow or pink next to Chantilly Lace.
