Hey Gonzer, Yes, Jenks, Blinkie is back. Hard to forget a dude like him, ehh? I see that Lisa is an astute observer of pets. Just look at the arrogance in Blinky's pose. ~~C'mon an' get me Snakie-poo! Or is it Snakie Foo Foo?~~ He is one mean kitten! And he is pointing right at your snake, Gonzer! He has no teeth. Heck. Just look at him! He doesn't even have a nose! Blinky does have a full set of claws and knows how to use them. Blinky's only diet since birth has been pure formalin! Day in and day out. No mother's milk for this bad kitty! She knew he was bad from the day he was born........Bad to the bone! I truly like, trust and respect you Gonzer. I would not want our friendship damaged because Blikny goes into action and makes boots out of your snake! Then who is there to guard your brommies? Think about it my friend, Gonzer. This isn't the Tiki where attacks from kitties are common. :-) Kindest regards to you and yours! bad C3D and the badder Blinky

When ever I go to any website the blue donut continues to blink. All this started when I deleated the weatherbug that somehow ended up on my computer uninvited.I have had so much trouble deleleting it.

I was going to put my blood type on the helmet too, but an EMT told me he would never pay attention to what someone claims their blood type to be, he uses universal plasma and at the hospital they use a quick blood typing test. The risks of infusing an incompatible blood type are too high. Medical insurance information sounds like a good idea. Although [rant] have you checked what your "insurance" actually covers, lately? Our family of four pays about $16K/year in employee contribution. And our total family deductible is around $12K/year. We have not consumed over $12K/yr of medical care in at least ten years, probably not since the last child was delivered. Basically we pay $16K/year - and my company pays at least as much - for catastrophic coverage. On a day-to-day basis, every doctor visit and every prescription is coming out of my pocket. I'd rather we had the system they have in France. Everyone, rich or poor, has basic, no-frills medical coverage. Those who want nicer, fancier, more sophisticated treatment - private rooms, cutting-edge technology, $100K/yr drugs - have the option of buying commercial insurance policies, if they can afford it and want to. But everyone, rich and poor, has a basic and decent level of care. We may get a version of that in the US, starting in 2014. Maybe. "There's many a slip, 'twixt the cup and the lip." Who knows if it will actually happen. [/rant] After reading this http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/21/technology/bicyclists-using-cameras-to-capture-accidents.html I got interested in wearing a video camera, so you see on the helmet my initial experiment. It is not the $300 GoPro that a serious biker-recorder wears, but a $38 micro-cam from a Hong Kong mail order hobby shop. Meant for use in radio control aircraft, helos, etc. After experimenting with this cheap camera, I'm putting a nicer videocam on my Santa list. Aside from the "evidence" aspect, it is instructive to view a recorded ride and think about what dangers I did and didn't perceive at the time. I've been riding in traffic since I was a 7 y/o boy riding in downtown Vancouver B.C. on my Peugeot ten-speed, but I still make mistakes every day. Just like we all make mistakes driving, even though we've been doing it all our lives. I'll post a link to some video later. Here is a link that might be useful: NYT Story

Bob, I do really enjoy your statements as they are usually just downright funny. And, occasionally I'll respond as I'm about to do here. PCBs are NOT mini-computers. They are simply "printed circuit boards" that are used to mechanically support & electrically connect electronic components. Usually made of materials like FR-4 (woven glass & epoxy) along with copper foil these PCBs by themself have very, very low failure rates. They easily meet Six Sigma standards if you are familiar with that. It is the components placed on the PCBs which typically fail. But I imagine the Bryant engineers know the temperature, voltage, etc ratings of each individual component that goes onto the control board (temp ratings are typically 0 to 70 degrees C for consumer use, -40 to +85 degrees C for industrial use) and don't spec that for installations where temperatures get outside the range. Given it is a control board it probably comes from Honeywell or someone like that & it comes with its own specs which the Bryant engineers then approve for use within their equipment within a given environment. Mini-computers is mostly an obselete term that described a class of computers in the middle range, somewhere between mainframes & PCs. Originated by DEC & others like Data General, Wang, Prime, etc joined in that market those companies pretty much disappeared in the late 80's & 90's. You don't need a highly-controlled environment like computer rooms/labs for the typical control boards to operate as they should as you suggest above. Most microprocessors/microcomputers (like Intel, Motorola, etc) operate fine in the HVAC space. As mentioned above, the primary problem appears to be the "bozo" installation contractor. Maybe that is why you stated "I have replaced just about every common board and sometimes multiple times within a year.".
