I was playing with sepia and faded edges - I love how it came out.

Well for my region, maturity is fairly late, but before Concord. It is quite resistant to Botrytis and Powdery Mildew. Last year we had a cold summer so it barely ripened, but when it does, it is much like the Desert Flame with a sort of cherry aftertaste. Hardiness is not much tested here, but it has one Parent from Osceola Wisconsin where it can go -30 F. The vigor is pretty high and if it has one major flaw is that it tends to set too many clusters/shoot. Need to thin from four clusters to two, after bloom, or it will over crop.

june 2007 There were some that I planted in other containers first mainly in my case to keep the bunnies and other things to keep from eating them. But most of them went into the ground straight from the jug. I took so long to get the zinnias in the ground that the red star zinnia (i think it is the correct name) started blooming while it was still in the ws jug so I was getting worried. But they made the move great and are blooming thier little heads off. And you can't even tell when I cut a bunch for the house. Thanks everyone. Paula

The Internet is a place where folks who ordinarily could never speak can socialize to their hearts content. Seme to me there are several good things about that ability and at least two not so good things. One not so good thing is the anonymity---you have absolutely no good way to verify who is actually typing what you read. And, along with that facelessness people find it much easier to sweep normal face to face social rules aside---after all, how does one get back at a person in a computer? The second not so good thing is related to the anonymity---how do we actually decifer exactly what a person means when they use only words? Human conversation relies heavily on manerisms---- facial expressions, hand gestures, and vocal inflection. When print is all there is, all those modifiers are absent and words/phrases can easily be read/defined differently by everyone who reads them. One other item---internet legends(old wives tales) have created an entire new false/true data base---causing several folks to start debunking websites in an attempt to correct the spread of these stories. Believe it or not, I am the Senior Moderator for an internet woodworkers website---with some 28,000+ members. It is my duty to make sure anyone who breaks the four simply rules we have found it necessary to initiate gets the appropriate correction. So far, we have permanently banned(denied access) over 200 former members because they could not be nice and cease attacking(verbally) other members. That has boggled the mind of the forum administrator---whose initial rules were---Be Nice, Stay on topic, and Have Fun. I agree whole heartedly forums need minimum rules of operation/decency. What is the actual result is that a certain number of people just do not interpret what is printed in the same manner and have different reactions. I also feel incorrect information should be corrected. In woodworking, incorrect information can result in a severe mistake. When incorrect information is given about pets, pets can suffer. Then there is the area of belief. I have certain beliefs about dogs, mostly from 50+ years of owning/working with them. These beliefs are now facts for me, proven by repetition and modification---since no two dogs are exactly alike. But there are people who vilify me for these beliefs, even when they have no idea of who I am or what experience I have----simply because they have their own beliefs---and those beliefs do not agree with mine. It is not easy to exchange ideas when people do not listen and consider information. The definition of conversation is the exchange of ideas---if one soide does not at least consider the other persons information, there is only a lecture and no education.

t5 flouresent lighting not led. Im in MI. That seed pic was taken in dec and it was in the tent like that till spring when I moved it outside for summer 2013, then back in the tent for winter, then back out side for summer of 2014 then I over wintered it in a east facing window(the best I have now) for winter 2015 now out on deck again for summer 2015. So basically in the tent for two fall/winters. Transplanted twice so far and prunned several times. Took a foot and a half off the top last year as they were getting thin. I appreciate your intrest and link to some curious reading I now have. More of dad/mom...edit: I did not take the plant outside for summer 2013, it stayed in the tent. First year outside was 2014 about two years after the seed sprouted.

Judy she isn't interested in boys, make up or going out we truly are blessed. LOL

She graduates this year and doesn't even want to go to prom her words were:
"What a waste of money to eat crappy food and see your friends get drunk and make fools of themselves."

Instead she is putting the money towards seeing Motley Crew in concert in December - 4 of them have already bought tickets 3rd row from the front and are thinking about getting a hotel and having a weekend in the city as well. LOL the child doesn't even like the music of her own generation! Motley crew are as old as me. LOL

LOL Nope no Motley songs during pregnancy. While I do sing along quite happily to The Crue my heart belongs to the grandfather of shock rock - Mr Alice Cooper.

I overdosed her on his music as a baby and toddler and she grew up hating his stuff - but in the last year or so she has starting listening to him openly and now enjoys it with me.

She's just a weird kid - she loves Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra too but also likes modern stuff like Evanesence, Linkin Park and Foo Fighters. LOL but she will leave the room if I play Eminem - or "Mum's rap crap" as the kids call it.

Beautiful pic and a beautiful daugher!

Motley Crue, brings back memories of my first concert. Gun's and Roses were the opening band. Both of my kids like classic rock. I remember my oldest sister having Alice Cooper posters on her wall. He scared me to death, LOL!

I love Dave Matthews! My "rap crap" is Kid Rock and the Beastie Boys, but I have to listen to them when the kidos are not around :).

Thank you all for the nice comments. Yes, she is known for her curly red hair and a fiery attitude to go with it! Her name is Maleah (common spelling Malia) and she will be 3 next month. Neither my husband nor I have red hair, so we get asked a lot where she gets it. That picture was just one of those moments where everything was right, the shirt she has on, the daffodils, her hair. She is used to Mommy carrying a camera around!
