Joanie, that's the same lamp that corgimum posted. I do like it. I think I got the BHG magazine in the mail the other day, I will have to look at it tonight when I get home to see if the lady's story/picture is in there. I am going back today at lunch to see if the glass jar at the antique store is still there. If I can't have it made into a lamp for reasonable, I will use it for something else, maybe a change jar for my future/someday trip to Italy. The opening to the jar is is probably 3.5-4 inches, and it has a lid that fits over it. I'll have to see what the lamp shop can do w/o paying so much that I should have just bought the PB one, LOL. I found the cutest shade last night at Ross. It's a Martha Stewart drum shade w/ a chrome metal edging on the top and bottom. It was only $2.99! I tried it in the Target lamp that I haven't returned yet, but I think it might not be wide enough. The top is 9.5 inches wide, and the bottom is 10.5 inches wide. I also think it would bee too narrow for the potential glass jar lamp. I'm going to try it on the original silver skinny lamp I bought at Target. If it looks good, then I might be able to use that on top of the chest of drawers. Are there rules about widths and heighths of lampshades in relation to the bases? Or is it just more of a whichever one looks better to the eye deal? Oh, for those that asked, the closest Home Goods is over by the airport, and it's a good 45 minutes one way form home, maybe more depending on traffic. I don't go there very often because I hate driving that far and then they have nothing. There used to be one in the same shopping center as my gym. I HATE they closed it! Seemed like they were always busy. Now it's a stupid ol' Staples. :(

Keep in mind that driving around is going to cost time and money if you spread prescriptions around. It could work for a time or two but I'm thinking its likely a limited deal. As far as where to get the coupons, I'd ask the person who gave it to you where they got it. I've seen these types of things in the paper with the store ads. I don't have prescriptions so I don't keep track of these things. If you have that many prescriptions I'd definitely sit down and spend some time on the phone and see how prices compare. Years ago when I needed a couple prescriptions I found that Walgreens was cheaper than Cub. Bit of a surprise to me but when you think about it, the discount places run sort of "loss leaders" on everything I guess.

Furniture with my kid (grown) in mind stays fairly basic. And most of the time he just doesn't care about style, more his personality than interest. The big deal is having one chair that is his alone. A bed and dresser, plus a desk for computer stuff. The desk usually ends up in the livingroom or the dining area in apts. Not even sure if they use a dining table. And as other's mentioned less is more for the single guy. I really like the simple lines in the photos from the link. Once he gets into an apt. (which probably can't be painted), perhaps a shopping trip for linens, dishes together. He really needs to be part of this since it will be his place. If you could get him on a couple of the shopping sites, let him identify patterns/color in bedding, etc. May help to identify colors ahead of time. But for a guy I see gray/red with the couch. You are wonderful to do this for him. When my son got his first apartment it was Target for essentials, we did in in one shopping trip. I was able to give him furniture, but the one thing that has stayed with him through the years was the darn reclining leather chair with separate foot stool. I doubt if this will ever go away. Have two Army kids, but ask if your Marine wants a "Love ME" wall. If you know of anything he has pertaining to his enlisted time...pics, medals, uniform....this is their wall. They should be framed and created into a single area. I framed half dozen important photos and a deep frame for his top coat, added flag that says "Proud to have Served" with a number of other items of meaning to him which can't be framed sitting on a shelf below. Secretly, I think all soldiers go for this (they're the ones that named it). Thier admission to such usually happens when one least expects it. My oldest son is in Kuwait right now. Other served in Desert storm. Remember to thank the soldiers personally when you happen to see one. They don't hear it much and are truely thankful when a stranger hands them this small acknowledgement.

But I still have 2/3 of a bottle of the Miele FS that's OK but not as good as the Ecover geranium FS which, I've decided, is a really nice one. Plus I still have half bottle of the horrid Vernel. I am due for a run to WM because we're down to one bottle of maple syrup which DH uses on his cereal. Plus, I have the rest of my basics list I do there. But, as said, I try very hard to stay out of Target & WM because -- and Mamapinky you know this -- I get mesmerized and suddenly "need" things I've never seen before. It's very dangerous for me to leave the grocery section at all and I try not to. Laundry soaps are in the DMZ between dairy and soda and housewares. Fortunately, my WM has a bad selection of kitchen electrics which saves me. I've been trawling there for a new blender and keep trying to resist since I don't know which one is good plus my 1969 blender still works perfectly well even though the glass jug is etched from the DW. If they had small sizes of these products (when I lived in the city we got everything in apartment-size containers) I would go for it. But I cannot buy one of those big jugs! Remember, I only use 2 tb of fabric softener a week!!
