If you google silgranit sinks a list of sites will come up for you to check like faucetdirect.com, homeandstone.com, etc. I got my sink from faucetdirect.com and my ss sink grid from irawoods.com kaidan-Once I decided on my faucet (Kohler Forte) I went online to check the specs and the max. thickness was listed. My granite was the 3 cm/slightly more than 1 1/2" thick. Think the faucet specs stated 1 3/4" max. thickness ok so if you added in the extra thickness of the Diamond back lip might be over the 1 3/4" max. With some faucet models you can order an extender which would then work. HTH.

I think the prices your friend has asked for are reasonable - even a good buy for the sink. I bought a floor model after the sink was discontinued for $580. At the time (almost a year ago) the best online price I could find was $676. Those deep sinks are expensive! I paid $38.50 for my sink grid on eBay but typical online price was $95. I haven't checked lately, but I think that grid is still available. My dishwasher is to the right of the sink, perpendicular to the sink counter, closest to the small sink with the disposer. My faucet is Blanco Anu. I love the high arc but find the pullout style awkward. Once pulled out, it is hard to aim the water spray where it is needed. I would suggest looking for a pulldown style, instead. (There's an active thread about pullout versus pulldown faucets that you may want to view, too.) I don't notice much splashing from the small sink. Rather, the tall faucet seems to splash more in the large sink and on the divide between the sinks. I don't find that a major problem - just a quick wipe with the sponge and all is neat again. The stainless does seem to show water spots easily. I've tried a couple of stainless cleaners and the Weimar polish seems to do the best job of preventing water spots. You do need to wipe off the water, though, when you are through using the sink. And our water is very hard.

Well after living with my Nantucket for awhile i do have a few other thoughts. The mirror finish scratches like crazy. We are so careful but somehow it has quite a few scratches around the drain already. Also hard water is a big deal. We have to wipe it down completely and if the feet of the rack are not completely dry they will leave water marks that are very hard to remove. It’s a lot of upkeep. We dry it out after dinner and don't use it again until next meal. i find myself pouring out water glasses in the bathroom. It’s really attractive and I especially like the folding rack that sits on the top ledge but do you really want this kind of upkeep in a sink? If you have a softening system it’s probably not an issue.

Thanks, no wonder I trouble finding them. I saw so many references to anthracite sinks, I didn't realize that was the name of the color rather than the material. I guess it is silgranite sinks I am asking about, and so far I have found blanco that come in black (antracite), metallic gray, biscut and white. I do believe there might be one in a brown color that I saw but I am not sure and can't find it again. Maybe not, it might have been swanstone, which I don't want. Anyway, any comments or photos of the lighter colors or photos of the black with the light counters would help. If I am not going to go with the free ss sink included, or the upgrade to the black silgranite, I need to figure in that cost. They do not offer the other colors with the purchase of the counter top so I would have to get my own. Sue
