Oh yeah, that looks exactly like zucchetta (tromboncino)! Don't stand too long in front of it, it will eat you alive :) I don't know if I will have any this year. I think my seeds must have rotted in the ground. I ordered more, but I haven't planted them yet. Enjoy the squash. I really like it.

Thanks for all the help! I use a ratio of 4 cups broth/water to 1 c polenta which is very coarsely ground. I cook it maybe half an hour then add a little butter and parmesan. I will definitely add more liquid next time. I cooked 2 more pieces in my little non stick and they turned out great so I guess that is another option. As for taste, I was totally scraping the crusty stuff out of the all clad and chomping down. Not grainy at all. I did not wait for the pan to get hot before I added the ghee so that is something else to try. Thanks again for all the pointers! Tracey

It is super vigorous here, not a speck of black spot, with candelabra full of bud canes, BUT once the blooms get to the exhibition stage strange things happen. Colors get muddy, petals go wonky, and for the sake of beauty in the rose bed, an early dead heading is in order just when a normal flowering rose bush has days of beauty left in a bloom at the same stage. Dig it out? If it had additional faults, probably, but it is just too vigorous and persistently pushing out blooms to go that route, so when a bloom gets nasty, dead heading is next, that solves its problem nicely. And yes, the name choice is 'juvenile.' Moses
