Bedroom Ceiling Light is no longer centered in room -- what to do?
Comments (6)Thanks! Yes, an electrician friend will be doing the work (and I'll be helping out). My issue is that I can't simply patch and paint the old J-Box location because I have a California Stucco ceiling -- it would be impossible to match :( If I don't use the existing ceiling fixture location then I'll need to just cap it with one of these: You don't think there's a way to use the exisiting fixture location in some way? Thanks for your suggestions on centreing the downlights -- that makes a lot of sense! I think I'd prefer to get rid of the standard ceiling fixture altogether (more of a minimalist look in my bedroom) -- do you think 4 potlights centrered as you suggest is sufficient lighting for the space? Or maybe I should consider either: - adding a 5th potlight centered in the room, or - adding a 5th and 6th potlights above the bed centred on the TV? Thanks!...See MoreHow can I add light to a kids bedroom that doesnt have overhead lights
Comments (3)There are plug in lamps with multiple heads on them so you can direct the light in different directions. Lighter colored walls will help reflect the light as well. If you prefer to add permanent lights, you may have to hire an electrician to add some recessed lights. If you choose to do this, then consider adding a smoke detector as well for safety....See MoreKids Bedroom lighting recess lighting vs single fixture

Comments (0)Hi! We are currently building a home and we have 2 small bedrooms and a den that need lighting and I have no idea if it’s a smart move to go for a single flush mount light or if we should do pot lights instead. Current situation: we live in a one bedroom home and our bedroom is around 110sq ft. We have 4 dimmable pot lights. We have never used lamps or any other source of lighting. We also have no flush mount lights in this home - all pot lights. I ask which is better because I have no “experience” with flush mount lights and since the rooms are so small, maybe it would be enough? The bedrooms are ideally for me and my husband, and two kids below 8 years old. If you look at our layout, we only have a few windows for the room. LED Flush mount we are going for (we are not open to changing this to something else): https://www.matteolighting.com/ceiling-lights/flush-mounts/m13702bk/ Rough sizes of rooms are 85-90sq ft. It’s more of functionality as we would like a clean and bright rooms :)...See Moreartlover13060
