Comments (3)I have used paint stripper and elbow grease many times. Sandblasting can work but glass blasting is better. When we did a staircase like yours it took four passes and with each one we left the stripper on overnight and embedded plastic over top to keep it wet. As much was removed with the scrapper as possible and then I hit the older layers of paint with a cup wheel and grinder. Then more stripper. Repeat. Repeat. Comments (4)Ask the builders for a concrete sample. Since your new windows mostly face north, and I am assuming you are in the Northern Hemisphere, the incoming light will be blue-ish. Find a north facing room in your current house and look at your sample paints and the concrete sample. Then pick one of the whites that goes with it (there will be several; you may want to look at warmer whites than the two you mentioned)....See MoreUser
