Well, I have worked on this bathroom till I am almost done with the entire thing! Got the sink painted, then decided to do the cabinets, got those done then decided I wanted to paint the walls,, got one coat on the walls and am thinking the floor might just have to be next, I know all of this is not going to hold up forever, but I am hoping it will, at least until we decide to remodel. I had my house stained and the foundation was not properly taped off. There was an overspray and now I have blue stain on my concrete foundation. :( Does anyone know of an easy way to remove this or will I have to paint my foundation? I did a web search but only found a couple of hits and it looked like I'd have to use some heavy duty chemicals to fix the problem. Thank you for any suggestions you can offer.

I don't think it could be mudjacked enough to get proper slope, might have to demo and repour. You can save a fair amount by doing the demo yourself, rent a demolition hammer for the day and have at it. Start at the edges and work your way in. I would recommend the 20 lb Makita over any of the heavy 65 lb hammers so you don't wear yourself out. Then your going to need to increase the amount of dirt around the house to get proper grade before a repour. Pavers with a slope away from the house are a better DIY option than concrete pads if hiring out isn't in your budget. I wouldn't recommend doing concrete pads DIY, too much weight and labor, might hurt your back, too hard for one person unless you have a family with multiple men able to mix, pour, level, in a timely fashion and have experience doing so.

When we removed our carpet, the concrete below had been painted before carpet went down. My hubby used a Bern Z matic torch to heat up glue, then scraped it off with metal putty knife. We have swirls of bare concrete where the glue was. Will paint eventually and hope for the best. I think he also tried a metal wire brush on a drill. All I can say is good luck. Maybe wait for cooler weather. :)
