Painting Fiberglass Entry Doors

We are replacing our condo front door. The association will let us choose the style we want, but they prefer fiberglass and require paint on the outside. We like the Thermatru ClassicCraft best. But it has wood graining. Thermatru says these doors can be painted. However, I do have a concern that the raised grain, if painted, will be easily scratched. Thermatru does not recommend sanding their doors to remove the grain: they say it would appear uneven. How prominent is the grain when these doors are painted? How well do they resist scratching? I am in my usual analysis paralysis. Any insights would be much appreciated.
