Clarify please - who starts the post? The 1st person who sends the block to the Birthday Person? Then others join into that post when we send blocks?

And who posts the picture? Senders or recipient?

Good questions. I think the easiest thing about starting a new heading is if you are mailing a block to a 'birthday girl" and you do not see your group and the month listed and/or her GardenWeb name and the name of the group, start a new heading and hopefully everyone will look first and if there is already a heading for that person, add to it rather than starting a new posting. If someone starts another new posting, it is not a major problem. I have just found it easier in the past to look all in one place for the information for that person's blocks. So the first sender will start the new heading.
The recipients post the pictures. I know some don't know how to do this or maybe don't have a digital camera or a scanner, but I will be happy to help anyone who needs assistance.
Thanks for the pat on the back. It has been a bit hectic at times, but lots of fun, too. I made one of my blocks to be sent in Janaury so I am being enthusiastic, too!
I will send out the list to each group one more time towards the end of December in case yours was misplaced. We also had a few revisions. If that happened in your group, I notified you by e-mail, but I want to make sure the list is totally corrected and complete and that you get a final version.

We had a person who had to drop out of one group due to a health issue so there is space for a replacement if someone wants to join and has not done so yet.

I haven't been here for a bit and posted the question about each group before I saw this thread. You have covered everything! I have a BDB to send this week for January 3 to make sure it arrives on time. What a great job you have done and I know this will be one of the best birthday exchanges ever...Thank You!

Hi, Eileen and others -
Within the US, I would suggest 7 - 10 days before the birthday just in case the mail is a little slow. Maybe allow up to 3 weeks for those being sent outside the US. It probably won't take that long, but that would get it there in time for the person's birthday. Now, I was in an "early bird" group this year, so you may run later than what I am saying ... and we all know sometimes something comes up and you just can't get it out exactly when you planned. It's great to get it there before the person's birthday, but if not - at least aim for her birthday month. If your questions was more in terms of how early is too early, I think most people would be happy to start celebrating 2-3 weeks early.
I will be following up by sending another e-mail to everyone with the list of your group members blocks, etc. I have been sending out updates as they come along, but I would like everyone to have the current list with the updates in place and all and we got the lists out early so they may have been misplaced. Thanks to all who are joining in. This will be a lot of fun!

I sent our revised lists to all four Birthday Block Exchange groups today (Carolina Lilies, Patchwork Pines, Galaxy Stars, and Best Friends) - if you are in one of those groups and you don't receive the e-mail, please let me know. Especially with Patchwork Pines, we had some significant changes. Thanks for being flexible and to those who helped out by being in mutltiple groups or sending multiple blocks within your group. We were able to have everyone join in who requested to be in a group - I think that is outstanding!

I have the lists for the groups in a Word document and if you can read it on your computer, it may be a lot easier to read than the message copied and pasted into an e-mail message. Anyway, if you would like theWord version, let me know. I think I tacked it on with the first group I sent to yesterday and then did not think to do it with the others.

I just had one lady leave the Best Friends group and one lady was added as a replacement. I will try to revise the list and get it to everyone early next week. You should have received an e-mail message from me about it. I just thought I would post here, too, in case someone has had a change in her e-mail address.
Will also discuss with the two ladies involved and the Jan. birthday girl when we want the swap dates to begin and end. The lady who dropped out really should receive a birthday block back because she did send for Jan. The three of us can decide what each wants to do.
