Go by just about any tile store & pick up a niche--your tile guys will know what to do--they'll cut the backerboard and slide it in. If you'd prefer corner shelves most tile stores have them in stock & I wouldn't think it would be hard to match a matte white close enough to pass muster (so it doesn't have to be Daltile brand). Just keep in mind that the shelves that are not recessed can be a hazard--I should know, I just about knocked myself out on the ones in DM's guest bath shower.

Lindybarts~ This is only the 2nd photo I've seen of your home (the other was your gorgeous master bath/travertine.... oh, and it seems you were the one with the huge beautiful island that at first you thought was too dark... was that you?). Oh my word, girlfriend, this is just beautiful! I love your fireplace, and your cool beams. Your built ins are just lovely. Your house is beautiful. Have you linked us to more photos in an album somewhere? I want to see more! ;o) Sorry Meagan, didn't mean to hijack your thread. I wish I had photos for you..... but mine is just a distant dream. I'm not sure when we'll get to the built-ins stage.... it will be a while.

Our Entry is two storey and the adjacent LR and DR have 12 foot ceilings. We've staged the Entry as sort of a gallery. Throughout, several large art pieces have been and hung so as to celebrate the height and to view them from afar - though some posters here have disagreed with my placement. Adjoining walls in the Entry and LR are painted the same accent color. I cannot capture everything into one photo but a collection of room scenes are linked below. pps7 thank you. that looks beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. That color blue really looks great. I was originally going to do floated but since the placement of everything was tentative when we ripped out the walls, I went with keep it simple "we'll deal with it later". Also one of the walls where I am placing them from floor to ceiling had plaster that couldn't be chipped out. I will put the brackets into the wall when I get a house though... I can't wait to buy and get these shelves up so I can find all my dry goods. One thing at a time though...first I need to take care of the counters and can't do that until I buy an undercounter fridge... Did you have them scrape them to bring up grain ?(it is add'l charge)
