Accessorizing new kitchen

Our new kitchen will be finished soon. We have new cherry stained maple cabinets and Bianco Romano granite countertops. Also new stainless steel appliances. The backsplash will be glass subway tiles with a metallic honeydew color. The wall color is close to the tile color. I was thinking about getting a lot of stainless items, but after view pictures of some kitchens, I'm thinking color. Maybe my new kitchen will need some bright colors. I appreciate any input.

I agree that some of the "accessories" sound like factory options or a different trim level to me. Of course, it's possible for a dealer to install extra air bags so long as some version of the car is built to have them (in many cars, the side airbags cost extra, but every one of those models can use the parts to install an airbag). But electric windows? Central locking? Something's a little odd here. Here are some questions I would think about: - Is the warranty any different between the two cars? Sometimes manufacturers change the terms of a warranty between model years. - What are the other differences between the two years? $1800 is a good-sized jump in the price. Is there a different engine? More standard equipment? What would you be getting for your money with the 2006? - Are you taking a long loan on this car? Longer than about 48 months and you'll be upside down on the loan for several years. This isn't a real big deal unless something happens to the car (accident, etc.) and it's not fixable. Because it's a year older, the 2005 likely will have a bigger spread between between the car's value and what you still owe. - Do you actually care about these accessories? Extra airbags are nice, but if you wear your seatbelts properly, they're not that critical. Do you live someplace where an alarm system has value? Do you care about alloy wheels (items which are not very expensive to add after you've owned the car a while)? If not and you're buying a car you plan to drive for years, then the 2006 makes more sense financially. Good luck. Either way, you'll have a fun car to drive!

Rookie - You know I love your kitchen. I agree with Emily - let it happen naturally. I was surprised with my kitchen that little things like dish towels and bowls I already owned are giving me direction for accent colors. I have this great bright/slightly olive green pottery bowl with a bunch of red and yellow tomatoes in it that looks amazing with my gray/white/stainless/natural wood kitchen. I also have some nice darker blue/not quite navy towels that also look great and a vase of sunflowers were "wow". I didn't imagine these were colors that would look good but with such a neutral backdrop vibrant things just pop - real life things not props - in the kitchen. If you really want to find some "colors" - just buy a bunch of dish towels and drape then on your stove for a few days to see how it does.

I think it looks GREAT! I do agree with elpaso that the décor above the wardrobes look too small to scale. I think the negative, empty space there is best. Anything in the right scale/size might actually be too overpowering. What is below the towel rope? A standard radiator? Is it not a fire hazard to leave a dry towel hanging on/over the radiator like that? It will look great, with crisp white rope. I'd probably secure it a bit more taut.

thanks intially i planned for cleats but saw the rope in a blog and thought i would try it out but i should know better than to emulate blog deccor ;). The white box is my GC's idea to cover plastic plumbing while i wait for metal pipes to be installed. it slides in and out of place and is temporary. I think I might use the rope and cleat idea in my play room to clip art from because in the right setting i think it might be cute.

Pretty tile. I'm thinking contrasting accessories...warm and organic...terra cotta, warm red, orange would be pretty. Perhaps a bowl of red apples from pottery barn.

Thanks for the input and the link. I'm new to the forum as far as posting. I have found a lot of useful information while our kitchen was in the process of being designed. I haven't been able to take very good pictures of the kitchen. The red apples look very nice.

If you've repainted the kitchen, installed some tile for a backsplash, and even installed a new floor. But something is missing from your kitchen decor. You look around, and realize that none of the accessories match. Your kitchen needs matching accessories to look right, just like a new outfit. Try adding some matching accessories to your kitchen.i am giving you some tips:

1:- To decide what theme or colors you need. Do you want a country cottage style decor? A rustic Tuscan look? Or a sleek modern look? Depending on the theme, you'll need different accessories.

2:- Wall art, decorative baskets, plates, and trays can really add to the appearance.

3:- Just be sure that you know how to properly hang art pieces on the wall.Placing pieces in a rectangle, triangle, or circle helps to add more interest.just re-arranging what you have can create a new look for your kitchen. Look for groupings of odd numbers, rather than even.

If you can't decide what you want. The internet is another good source for inspiration.
