We moved to FL from NH 6 years ago. I miss Cain's mayo most of all. Everytime I go back I bring home a case and if some one is coming down I ask for mayo and a rock or two for the garden!

I relocated from SE Pennsylvania to the west coast. I miss:

cheese steaks
Tastykakes
good pizza
all-pork hot dogs
big soft pretzels from street vendors

I came from Buffalo NY. I miss Beef on weck sandwiches, Anchor Bar Hot wings, and Tree dill pickles. I visit my Mom in Bflo twice a year and get my "special treats" then. Another favorite is chocolate covered sponge candy.

I have lived in the North East for much of my life. I grew up and, still visit Toledo, Ohio.

I miss Vernors Gingerale. Nothing like it. And, as everyone knows who has ever had it...it's great when you are sick.

Isaly's chipped ham.....

Every time I go for a visit, I load up on the chipped ham...They say, the people in the south just don't know how to chip the way they do in Pa.....

Guess some wouldn't consider moving 37 miles 'relocating', but considering I've lived within 2 miles of where I'm sitting right now, all my life--it will be a pretty big deal to me, when it happens.

I'm already looking ahead and thinking about the places I'll miss. We have 2 homemade pasta/ravioli places in town, a cute little cannoli bakery that has the best cannoli, a wonderful 'regular' bakery that's famous for their cinnamon buns and cream donuts (they ship them all over the country). Still, I know I'll find interesting new places to visit. And since the area where we'll be moving has a large Italian population, hopefully, I'll be able to find good fresh pasta and cannolis there, too. And I hear there's a wonderful bbq chicken place--it will be fun doing the research to find what's good.

Oh, and I'm really going to miss being able to run to Wegman's 2-3 times a week.

I re-located many years ago from the east coast to the west coast,but i still miss Hersheys Ice Cream,Hellmans mayo,the most.I know they say our best foods is the same as Hellmans,but it doesn't seem so to me.

Kathi--we East Coasters miss Hershey's Ice cream, too. I don't know if it's still available at all--haven't seen it in ages. It was really good, though wasn't it?

And ever since Hellmann's reformulated their mayo about 2 (?) years ago--it's not the same, either. Still the best choice out there, but nowhere near as good as it used to be. Adding all that extra water, so they could list a lower calorie count just ruined it for me.

I was born and raised here in Minnesota but, I spent 16 years living in New Mexico. What I really miss is Green Chile grown along the Rio Grande in Hatch, New Mexico. It's the best.

We relocated from Florida. I'm Cuban so I could eat all the cuban food I wanted and I could also find it available anywhere to buy the ingredients and main staples. I'm in NC now and, though there are lots of mexicans here, the food is not the same. Most people think that if you speak spanish all your foods are the same but... it's totally different and so are the spices.

I grew up in the West and lived there on and off as an adult. I miss fresh vegetables and fruit that aren't rotten by the time you get them home. I bought a watermelon last week, knowing it probably wouldn't be any good and it wasn't. I won't be buying anymore. I'm growing them in the backyard and will just wait a couple months to eat a good one.

It's just sad when the expensive stuff you see is covered in mold or onions are visibly black and they never take them off the shelf. I no longer buy yellow onions because every store around here has only rotten ones. Sometimes the white ones are ok...so that's what I buy when I can find a good bag.

I miss the restaurants from central Illinois--Big John's BBQ, Hunt's Drive-in, The Original Murphy's fried chicken and corn fritters, Melvin's Bakery lemon cream pie, Quality Bakery's Milwaukee rolls and raisin criss cross cookies, Ho Toy Lo Chinese food and the NW Chicago suburbs' Hippo's hot dog restaurant.

When we moved to IL from Lancaster PA I missed everything!

I moved from CA to Iowa a few years ago and I miss avacados the most. Also, artichokes and very fresh fruits and veggies. I also miss fresh seafood. Right now I am vacationing in CA and eating lots of seafood. I am taking avacados home with me.

moving from san diego to detroit...i missed the meat until we got sam's club and sour dough bread, until we got costco...fresh fruit, going directly to the veggie wholesaler...and warm from the vendor at the store tortillas...if you hit delivery just right...

strange thing about vernors i never had a problem getting it on the west coast...

Just had my inlaws drive 700 miles with Blue Plate Mayo, corn in a tube, Kirkland's chocolate covered raisins, Granny's biscuts, Nama's fudge, and my mom's chili.

We drive 60-80 miles for Waffle House and go to Krystal's any time we are remoteky near onr (closest is about 150-200 miles away)

I've never heard of half the stuff listed but it sure is making me hungry.

I've never moved far enough away to miss anything

WE moved from the Pacific Northwest to NC 16 years ago, and still haven't found Chili as good as Nalley's Original Chili with Beans. So I order it from Birdseye Foods every few months. We even gave each of our kids a case at Christmas, and they were so grateful! We also miss Uncle Dan's Salad Dressing mix.

When I was living in South Asia I missed Saltine Crackers most of all, but decent bread and milk were pretty high up there too.

We moved 165 miles from Joliet. I miss:

White Castle burgers
Gioridono's Pizza
Dragon Light Chinese

We do have a Girordono's pizza about an hour from us. That is our special "date night" treat.

DC native here but living in MD. "Lived" in Chicago area (about 20mi from O'Hare) for almost a year. Boy do I miss Giordano's!! Also can't get good hot dogs here either. I never really liked them before my stay in Chicago. While WAITING, and WAITING in the airport terminal (infamous O'hare saga), I ordered a hot dog - not thinking it would come dressed to the nines, with lettuce and cucumbers - boy was it good. Every once in a while, ya just gotta have a hot dog. Also miss the shopping!!!

The German bread selection, not was poses as German Rye in stores here.

I miss Bordens ice cream...and Schoenling Little Kings...and BBQ from Peytons...all found in Indiana...so whenever I make a trip north...I come back with lots of frozen bbq, and a couple of cases of Little Kings!!

Does anyone know if you can buy Verners Ginger Ale in IA or MO?

I too miss fresh fish, avocados, fresh fruit, fresh veggies, good Mexican food, and good Asian Food. I am not quite into all the mid west stuff, like lefse (unflavored) pancake made of pototoes, brats (like only certain brands) etc.
