We pay about 125. for cable plus internet, way too much, in my opinion.

Mine runs about 53.00 a month with tax, and whatnot add-ons they seems to slip in.
I use the local cable company, and about 2 a year I call them, and about 1 a year they will give me a promo rate for 6 mos. or so. It has been as low as 25.00 a month.
I also have called around, and think I have the best deal I can get. Now if someone new comes around, I will call my cable company and they will meet or beat their price.

We pay almost $150 for the Comcast bundle, which includes high speed DSL internet, the tv, and phone with unlimited long distance calling.

I pay $84 a month for my telephone service, including unlimited long distance calling (actually 20 hours per month, which seems unlimited to me), and high-speed DSL.

We have Brighthouse and pay $125 for cable with free HD, unlimited long distance and Internet. I guess that isn't too bad--I'm happy with the service.

I pay $35 a month for Broadband through the local electric company, which I think is quite a bargain. It isn't super fast, but fast enough that I am not tempted to double my speed for double the cost to the same company.

I don't know who your local phone service is with but I see Verizon has DSL with speeds up to 1 MBPS (2 year contract required) for $19.99 a month for life (as usual there are terms that apply). That sounds like a fairly good deal, even though it requires having a land line phone too, which is nice in the case of a power outage.

I've heard some people threaten cancellation and get a better price. My biggest fear is they will say "okay, goodbye".

I tried that with my cellphone company. I wanted to upgrade my phone early and they said No. I said I will cancel my service if they don't upgrade me.
They said, "Ok, and you owe an early termination fee of $150.00, will that be paid by check or charge?"

They called my bluff. I said never-mind and hung up.

That includes my $58.00 for internet, $60.00 for cable and $22.00 for home phone.

I don't have any problem with the service, everything works great. Just a little pricey.

What I get when I call is that I'm on a 3-way bundle and I'm getting the best prices they offer. Which is true, individually they are even more costly...

It just kills me to pay $140 for cable, internet & home phone. Then pay another $120.00 for my cellphone family plan.

It's not like electric or gas. Cutting back a little doesn't help.

My high speed internet is through Qwest and I pay $46.99 per month. Then I pay $62.88 per month for my DirectTV. I have had this for over a year and am very happy with it. I was paying a little less until recently and need to check with them to see why the price changed.
Up until last year, I had Mediacom and was unhappy with their customer service. They had no one available at night or on the weekends.

I have comcast. $58 for DSL(modem rental included). The same as yours.

Have you checked to see what the rates are with your phone company for a phone and internet and if they maybe have bundled service?

Could you maybe pare down the cost of $60 for TV by going with a smaller plan with fewer channels? I pay $37 for my Dish TV and have plenty enough channels to suit me, but of course it may not suit any/everyone else.

Are you also maybe on the fastest ISP service offered? Sounds like unbundling and going with smaller plans from different places might be a better value for you.

We have the bundle through the dreaded Comcast and pay $154. per month...We do have unlisted phone, all the bells and whistles with the TV and high speed internet....But along with all that we do have problems and I'm constantly on the phone with a service person....
It is true, if you complain, you usually do get your bill cut....I honestly think, they can charge you what they want....
We've been considering going with something else but most aren't available in our area.....

I also think these companies should not be allowed to monopolize (sp).....

I was paying $60 for wireless thru ATT but since I was only using a fraction of what I was allowed to use, I recently had it switched to $35 a month....and it is still more megabytes or whatever than I will probably ever use. I just use the internet for email and a few forums. I don't do gaming with other people or anything like that that would entail needing a lot more.

$49.00. That's 43.00 for Cable One 5.0 and 6.00 for modem lease.

Service provider called Porchlight serving a few southern Ontario cities, charges me $9.95/mo. if I pay annually, or $14.95/mo. if monthly pay, for regular service over landline.

There's talk of maybe a somewhat faster service over landline, some miles from a switch, becoming available soon, at a higher rate, of course.

This service offers a higher speed, at a substantially higher fee, but don't know whether it would be available to me - think I'll check.

Though, with my computer not working properly, I haven't used their service for months, using only service through local libraries (1.5 hour max. daily in London, where I am now ... and about to run out of time).

Joyful, that supposed higher speed dialup is essentially a scam. It's a software compression program that doesn't work well. It does not and cannot be a faster speed since a telephone line has a maximum speed. Theoretical max is 56kbps but given losses over the line you might get more like 45-49. Or less. Also that compression only works in certain situations and not at all on uploads so I wouldn't waste the money if I were you. At that rate you'd be better off looking into seeing if you have DSL available.

I broke down a couple years ago and went with DSL through Qwest and US Family Net. The DSL line is roughly $25/mo and the internet access through USF is about $9/mo. It's $5/mo+ cheaper to use USF for internet rather than MSN through Qwest plus I don't like giving Microsoft any more than I have to. I bought the modem so there's no rental. I think rental fees are silly. Back when they let you buy your phone I turned mine in right away to drop the monthly charge.

I have the 1.5M and it's fine for me and I'm glad I did it. It was time. With the Windows OS these days and all the patching you pretty much need hi speed to patch all the holes all the time!

In some areas Qwest has fiber optic lines now and are running a special for any speed up to 40M for $19.99/mo for one year. But I don't have it available to me. According to them I don't have broadband available to me. Wanted to ask them why I'm getting billed for it then.

I pay $64 a month to Hughes Net. Great service, but expensive. Telephones, cellphones are extra.

I was on hughs net but modems kept going out which would cost me over $100 to replace.
Ended up having to replace three times. Can't get cable or dsl so i have a verizon usb broadban and it $60 a month but have had no problems with it and it's actually faster then my hughsnet was. other then plain old dial up, in out area i had no choice.

We have DirecTV -- $70/month for HDDVR.

It's AT&T for land line phone w/limited long distance plus wireless internet (fast enough for me, whatever it is). That's $60/month; $28 of it is internet.

A whopping amount on each bill is TAXES!

I could probably save by dropping the land line and doing Comcast for TV and internet -- maybe.

Pawprint, you might inquire about Roadrunner Light--19.95/mo here. I learned about it on a computer forum. When I inquired about the downgrade they tried to tell me it wasn't much faster than dialup but they could switch it for me to try and would switch it right back if I wanted. I tested it on sites with lots of pictures and also YouTube and saw almost no difference from Regular, so still use it.

As I'm out in the boonies still on dialup and pay $15 a month. If I pay annually I only have to pay for 11 months and get the 12th one free. I do have my monthly phone bill of approximately $22 a month, of which approximately $4.50 is taxes.

$88 for high speed internet and cable. Thinking of bundling my land line if I can lock into a good deal. Basic land line with AT&T is under 15 dollars but starts to add up with all the taxes so ends up being around $25.00. Way too much since I only use it to field and screen calls. We're probably going wireless soon so everything will change again so I'm waiting taking a wait and see attitude for now.

Talk about the taxes on a home phone. The companies brag and sell the home phone services here for $20 a month. They forget to tell me that there are $12 in taxes! $32 for basic phone service. I'm so frustrated.

I called yesterday and they wouldn't work with me. I cancelled all the services!!!! I'll save myself $140.00 now!

I have a Blackberry and I'll just use it a lot more. I also have an outside TV antenna for the regular free channels. :-)

I am running DSL by AT&T over a phone line for $30 additional per month. Up to 10 email accounts are permitted and it is possible to run multiple devices on the gateway ( a gateway does the job of a modem and router.) The speed probably does not compare to roadrunner over a cable, but it is respectable and is many times faster than dialup. I made good use of this service since my adult son had to temporarily move in while he was between jobs. It was no problem to add an email account for him and connect his computer via USB port radio link. He made good use of it for job hunting. (He's moving out tomorrow.) We are back to my desktop and two laptops. One laptop is used only occasionally.

This system has been reliable. The gateway (att provided) has run a year without a problem. The only problem I've encountered is that the system slows down between the hours of 3 pm to 6:30 pm.

The service is really Yahoo! as sold through AT&T. I do not like the default home page, but have it set up for two home pages on a pair of tabs. I continue to use my old home page for roaming the net because it is less cluttered. A simple click on the ATT tab takes me home to the email service and other features.

My total phone bill with internet runs $55 to $60 per month. I dropped my old dialup at $220 per year and my wife dropped her dialup at $19 per month, and I dropped the second phone line at about $30 per month.

I have the Comcast bundle with HD/DVR TV and phone - the whole thing is about $125/month. I think the broadband internet piece is around $55. Considering how much I use the internet I think it's a good value. I used to pay Quest almost that much for a land line. That seemed like a lot considering how little I use it. My Comcast bill actually went down when I bundled all three under them. Comcast service is great where I live.

I have never paid for an email account and wouldn't unless something major happens. There's plenty of good free options out there and you have more portability with them if you change providers.

I miss paying only $5/mo for dialup internet but as I said, higher speed is a necessity these days. (sigh) Oh well, end of an era I guess. Thought about converting to Linux as a potential cost-saver but even with Linux you pretty much need high speed to download the distros. I want the internet at home and on my computer so library and wifi spots aren't really a good option for me. I used to take my notebook to a wifi to update things but that's a hassle.
