Crazyhouse6- can you share pics of your kitchen-- what backsplash did you use? I love the 1 pic i saw on a post. We are planning on using Giallo Ornamental Granite too!

Thanks Suzienj - The backsplash is mainly 3 x 6 tumbled marble (purchased at Lowes). I love it.

I've been meaning to get an actual post of my kitchen done, but haven't gotten to it yet. I promise I will soon. We just moved in 2 weeks ago and I was hoping to get new pictures, but haven't yet. Feel free to ask if you have other questions about it.

Here's a few pictures I posted in a previous thread. I tried to find the thread, but wonder if it didn't drop off. It was worded with a question like "what makes your kitchen pop," or something like that. It was a great thread, but I can't find it. Sorry, maybe someone else can find it.

I speak from personal experience. Our GO did stain. We installed it when we had given up on selling our house and within a week we had stains. (The house sold the week after we installed the granite) We knew nothing about granite and thought it was sealed. We were able to reduce the stains but they didn't go completely away. We are in the process of starting a re-do on our present kitchen and I don't care what the fabricator says, if I don't see him seal it personally I will do it myself. Saying that, I have a chunk from my slab and have put several different things on it (mustard, ketchup,olive oil) and after several hours I just wiped it off and no stains! I am excited about that.

I went through the same thing. I have medium cherry cabinets with a creamy white island. Of the three SC looked different everytime I saw it even at the same granite yard which confused me more! GO was the most consistant from slab to slab and I think NVG had the most color of the two. I don't think you can go wrong with either NVG or GO. I ended up going with Giallo Napoleon in my kitchen and GO in my powder room but it is a cherry cabinet. please excuse mess still under construction.

I really like the glass blocks, and think a 1x1 mosaic tile of glass or stone would look great. The squares of the 1x1 mosaic would repeat the squares of the glass blocks. I love Oceanside Glasstiles in the Geologie and Tessera series, they would look great in your kitchen. I don't think you're as limited as you think...I can visualize a lot of different styles in there. You might check out Stone & Pewter Accents Falling Water, Jeffrey Court Fire and Ice or Raindrops. Gorgeous cabinets, by the way...and Giallo Ornamental Granite will look wonderful.

The walls are BM berkshire beige. They're beige with an olive hue.
