We "refreshed" our kitchen so it will be more appealing for resale. We have Giallo Napolean which I think is similar. We did a tumbled vanilla marble in 4"x4" tiles and randomly inserted a mosaic of pineapple onyx that we cut from sheets of 1"x1" mosaic. I think it really came out nicely. Unfortunately, I don't' have a picture of the backsplash, but I do have a picture that show all the materials together + our Silky Terrier (I was trying to show someone what a quarter bevel looks like - we love it). I also have a picture showing how we mocked it up while we were still at the tile store. We were toying with using a 4"x4" onyx tile, but thought the mosaic looked better.

Hi Hungryheart, I think it is great you are switching. While UT and GPearl are pretty I think the golden warm browns of your cherry pecan cabinets will look stunning with Vicenza or Feranza. Sorry to hear that posting pics hasn't worked--it would definitely help! I haven't tried yet, but I hope I can post some pics of my finished kitchen, which may have similar colors. I have giallo ornamental, but I don't know if it would be considered the "darker" version. It has dark brown, a little black and russet colors along with the lighter cream colors. My cabinets are cherry stained sienna with an ebony glaze--they are a medium-to-light cherry. My floor is probably darker than yours with carmel, taupe and cream as the primary colors in a random variation 20" tile. I put in a subway backsplash in matte biscuit, traditional running bond pattern. If I had more time, creative energy, and money I would have added a bit of glass tile as an accent. But the simple subway sits there quietly and works well for my needs. I just don't like bold backsplashes--they compete too much with granite. Hey Techmom, Thanks for the input. From what I've read I think you're right. The tumbled marble is pretty holy and those will be filled with grout. The honed marbled that you speak of is the smooth travertine I mentioned above. I believe it's basically the same stone as the tumbled version except they polish it to give it the sharp edges and smooth surfaces then fill all the holes with epoxy. Nice thing about those is you can get really thin grout lines. A site I read said with the honed version you can use 1/16 grout while the tumbled version the grout will be more like 1/2.
