No experience here with the faucet you are talking about but I do know you get what you pay for,so buying something that doesn't cost at least an arm probably won't last very long!LOL Why does your DH not want to buy the brands you mentioned? I have always used Price Fister products and have no problems with them.I have seen the kind you are talking about on a lot of the home repair/decorating shows.I think they are neat but I wonder also if they would not break easily.Personally I would opt for the separate one but that's just me.I do want one of the bar type faucets that you mentioned.My kitchen faucet needs replacing but I want to replace the sink also and can't afford to do it right now.I want one of the deep,single (I think it's called French Country style) rectangular shape sinks.I hate double sinks.I want one that you can wash a big pot (or bathe the dog or grand baby) in without flooding the whole counter.Hope you get the one you want.

I've only known one person who had the pull out spout...and it did not work...needed parts or something.

I'm sorry...I'm with DH...least ways if the spray goes bad, you won't be without a faucet until it is fixed...and the separate sprayers are easily replaced, or repaired cheaply.

I had (not by choice) one of the kinds that had the extension sprayer and I hated it! It leaked and was just a pain. I do not know what the brand was. Replaced it with a high arc double handled faucet with separate sprayer. I know you said he does not want this brand but we've been very happy with ours. It's been installed 3 years now and is as good as new and I would sure recommend it. Here is a link to the one I have.

I have the high arch faucet in my laundry double sink. It causes more splash than a "regular" kitchen faucet.

I am curious too as to why T doesn't want either of those brands, because they are both very good brands. If it is because of the price, I think this is one of those places where you get what you pay for. Be sure to also check the warranties.

I installed a faucet like you described on our kitchen in 1996. It's an American Standard Reliant. A year later the faucet head came apart and flew across the kitchen, propelled by water pressure. I called the manufacturer and they sent a free replacement. I also got a new mixer valve and hose free a year and three years later, also free. No problems since.

I had the single-faucet type with the sprayer arm that came out and used it 14 years with no problem. Ours was PriceFister and I loved it to death!! Guess it's still going--we sold the house. If I replace the one here (which I'd love to do) I'd get another in a heartbeat!

Our kitchen sink has the pull down faucet/sprayer. It was in the house when we bought it 4 years ago. So far it has been trouble free. I don't see a brand name on it anywhere, but our other faucets in the house are Delta so that may be as well.

I have two KWC pull-out faucets. They're not exactly cheap, but they are one of the best faucets you can buy. If you've ever used a good faucet, like KWC or Grohe, you'll never go back to a "cheap" faucet. I think it's important to have good faucets on sinks you use a lot, like the kitchen and master bath. I have a less expensive faucet on my laundry sink.

It pulls out to over 2 feet, which is handy for filling my coffeemaker or a large pot on the stove. You press down on the cap/top to change to spray, and it reverts to stream when you shut the water off. You don't have to hold a button down for continuous spray, like some faucets.

I realize this isn't a high arc faucet like you want, and it's probably more than you want to spend (I paid over $250 in 2004), but I'm very happy with mine and thought I'd recommend it.

Monica, my DS and DIL have one like you are wanting. I'll ask them for the brand name and what they think of it. It is very nice looking and I've never had problems using it.

I have the same one that Uxorial pictured in her post. Haven't had any problems with it and love it. They're all pretty pricey...it's a jungle out there! Good luck on your decision.

It could be that the two brands mentioned are not as good today as they were several years ago. If you have a plumbing shop in your area ask them what brands they have the least problem with.
