After I let her out of her carrier this AM, and we played a bit, and I tied her outside, and put her carrier out there along with some toys. She seems at home in it, as she went in and out of it a few times this AM, so I imagine it must feel safe and comfortable to her.

I just checked with an 'in the know' neighbor and she had no ideas about who she might belong to. I also checked with the park campground and the main office (down the road a little ways) and left my name and number in case she slipped her collar in the night and really does have an owner looking for and missing her.

I can remember life with a puppy. It is 24/7 seeing to their safety and entertainment, especially with 3 other doggies here.

So much to do...on such little sleep....sigh. I am ready for a nap already but know there will not be any time for one today.

I'll keep you all updated on the happenings here.

What a cute puppy! How could any one be so cruel as to dump her. You did good to take her in. It looks like she has some Golden Retriever or Yellow Lab in her. Hope you find her a good home.

Kim, I so hope and pray that you are right. She has been so good today tied out. I think I'll put her in her carrier and let her ride to town with me, so she won't have more 'alone' time here. She has behaved beautifully, not crying or howling or anything, but then she knows I am not far away from her and can hear me here in the house.

Oh...and I need to call animal control too to see if someone has been looking for her too.

I see you found the link to this thread, explaining why I had been busy and tired and not on much lately.

Ok, update for everyone. No one claimed her and Boyfriend said it just was not a good time for him to consider having a puppy as he is working a lot of long hours. He liked her though and saw how much I liked her too, and said if I wanted to keep her that he would pay for her shots and getting her fixed when the time was right (6 months old).

So, she is now mine, and has had both of her sets of puppy shots and is starting to get adjusted here, and the others are just now sort of starting to accept her.

Her name is Ellie, short for Eleanor. She is outside most of the time. I bring her in for short periods of play throughout the day, but most of the time I am outside, and I have her tied near where I am working.

She likes banana chips and also likes to eat freshly picked blackberries and raspberries. I imagine she will like grapes once they ripen some more.

She annoys my other 3 furbabies (doggies) jumping on them with her sharp little claws. She loves chasing butterflies and toads. She is such a joy.

She is a very hot natured puppy, and lays on the AC registers when inside and wants outside if it is cooler out than being inside.

She loves to 'swim' and splash all of the water out of her bowl, so I am forever filling her bowl. I keep water handy near by in a watering can to save some steps back to the faucet.

Gotta run...she is outside hollering for me to come back out.

Last week the vet guessed her to now be about 5 months old, judging from her teeth and what was coning in. He guessed that she had some Great Pyrenees, and maybe some German Shepherd in her and will likley max out at about 50 LBS which won't be too bad.

I will try to get some new pics, but can't get her to hold still long enough. I might have to catch her asleep.

I'm glad you got to keep Whitey and know that she will have a great home with you. I know puppies will eat most anything. I have a 6 month-old goldendoodle and she has eaten lots of stuff she shouldn't have.

Please check on the pet forum or do a google search before you let her eat grapes. They have an enzyme in them that is very harmful to dogs, especially puppies.

I know what you mean about having to get a picture while she is sleeping but sure would love to see how much she has grown.

One of my husbands' best buddies had to put his doxie Gertie down not two weeks ago because of kidney failure. The culprit was the grapes he had been feeding her. He was unaware that they were toxic to dogs. He called us right away when he had lost Gertie and was crying. He came over the house to warn us about Coal, but fortunately we have never given either of our dogs grapes. Now I google anything I give my dogs before I give it to them. This death of Gertie really upset me. I always knew chocolate was posionous to dogs but not grapes.

She's FAR more likely to be part golden, maybe most Golden, rather than Great Pyr, which is relatively rare. It is always better to choose more common dogs when guessing a mix than rare breeds! Got any newer pictures? I'm guessing Golden, mostly. She's lovely!

I'll try to get some newer pics soon and post them. She is asleep here inside but find it is too dark to get good pics inside at night, especially since I have lamps unplugged because of her and the dangers cords pose...sigh.

I let her run and romp free a good while this evening while I was working outside. She didn't go far and was seldom out of site and didn't bother or drag anything around. I remember puppies can be so destructive if not watched carefully. I think she really wore herself out. I wonder if I can trust her to behave while I slip and get a quick shower. I'm gonna chance it.
