Oh dear, Lmcal, You are being too hard on yourself. You are not complaining or being too picky. You sound realistic. Tomorrow you are going to take a deep breath and remind yourself you are paying for this new kitchen. And with a firm, calm, direct and powerful (not agressive save that if things get ugly later) and kind voice you will figure a way to communicate what you expect from these people you have hired. You can do this. I think for women (like me) this can be difficult to try to be kind but yet firm. Don't be afraid to do this. There are different ways to approach this depending on the other person. You can do a casual kind but firm approach. Something like.. "Wow, I can not wait until you are finished. Those nails sticking out just iritate me. When you are done it is going to be amazing! I am just so excited about this new kitchen. Why just the other day I noticed the marker mark on the back of the wine rack. But I know this will all be fixed. The tiles will be so beautiful when they are smoothed out. I am thrilled. Thank you for your good job. And I look forward to seeing the corrections. " It is sort of a backhanded compliment. I know sneaky but it gets your points across. The other way is direct. Simply say. "I see there are few things that still need to be done. I want to take pictures of the progress. Should I wait until you have them corrected ________? There are definitley some issues that I looking forward to being corrected. Do we wait for the walk through or should I mention them now?" This sort of gives him an annoucement of what you are going to annouce. Giving him time to save face, or respond to your direction. And the third option. And I am so guilty of this is getting my DH to step in and speak for me. Often this is harder as DH is non confrontational. Thinking of you and hoping you know you are NOT too picky. The others are right, though you need to be careful because a lot of adhesives will attact the silvering (ok, these days it's aluminuming) and you may want to remove it one day - use the special stuff, but most framed mirrors don't use adhesive at all, they're held in place with brads or, preferably, beading. My wife and I obtained some doors that were intended to be glazed or perhaps have a panel in them; ie it's the outer part of the door with an open centre, and we've been talking about making it into some sort of decorative mirror. I suspect buying a made one would be cheaper, but we're thinking of doing something nifty and personal with it. I'd be figuring on beading holding the mirror in, it'll be backless. In the op's situation glue is a good idea, as for the rebate for the edges of the mirror, if you have a friend with a table saw or even a hand saw with a fence, it's very easy to make a rebate/notch that will help hold the mirror in place, even if it's 1/8" - but your gluing thing will probably work but I'd be very careful...you'll probably want to screw the frame to the wall to be safe.

Thanks! I'm cleaning it right now with acetone and layers of black are coming off. The amazing thing is that what looked like brown stones are now beginning to look like natural turquoise! It's like a gem hunt!

To keep from wasting the GEII since it skims over while I'm fiddling with tesserae placement, I gun it into a large syringe from the vet's. Then I can simply squish out as much as needed for each piece, place it and go on. If I run out of time and have to stop before a syringe is empty, I stick a push pin in the hole, draw the plunger back and let it in effect self seal. Might have a little cured plug attached to the pin when I'm ready to resume, but other than that very little waste. To plug the end of the caulk tube, use a medium diameter nail and some tape. I am switching more to the thinset, but still working out how to keep it from setting up as quickly......maybe I just need to cut loose and work faster!! LOL!! Pat
