Thanks Bea Folks, I've just about finished my trade list. At least for most of the seeds i'll have to trade with. As for my own breed and harvested tomato seeds from this year i should have enough for quite a few trades. Some however i might only have enough for one or two. I will continue to update my list in the coming weeks I truly do love this site, cause of the trading list aspect of it. I didn't knew there was such topic, so after almost a year it's time to introduce myself too. :) My name is Alexander, I'm currently 19 years old and I'm from Belgium, somewhere near Antwerp. My nickname (a giant sea reptile which is extincted for 155 million yrs or so) may seem weird for use on a gardening forum, but it's a relict of me watching "Walking with Dinosaurs" more than ten years ago; and now I got quite used to it. And best of all: that nickname seems to be always available! ;) I started liking conifers as a small boy when walking through spruce forests in Wallonia and Germany. Since a few years, that "liking" developed itself into a fascination; beginning with mostly spruces and firs, and now for all conifers, especially the Pinaceae. Living in one of the most densely populated regions in one of the most densely populated countries in one of the most densely populated parts of the world, I sadly lack space to plant all trees I would like to plant. Driven by the eagerness to still have as many as possible I'm currently exploring the world of the dwarf conifers. I'm also occupying myself (in a very amateuristic manner I must confess) with growing conifers from seeds extracted from cones I found in the wild. Disadvantage is that all those species are regular forest species, and thus will get too big too soon, so I'll have to find a way to get rid of most (give them away, plant them somewhere where I'm allowed to), but that's one of the things you don't think about when having fun! :)

Janice, I'm glad my dream gave you a good laugh...it was very real down to the dirt texture of the magic seedling fabric. Just before I went to bed that evening, I did spend at least 15 minutes checking out my tiny one leafed seedlings. I'm a little disappointed that they don't look as flashy (streaked) as the pics Ken's been showing off....soooo....combined this with the Hosta Chia Head (which was great by the way)...and Andrea's request to see real faces....and that may explain the dream...however a dream interpreter would analyze the symbols... And there is no question that the ads are invasive and could have an influence too...subliminal... I guess my husbands nightly statement when I'm on the computer after dinner says it all, "Are you hostaing again?"

If you are just looking for names, I have two suggestions. One is to look at Don R's hosta lists. He just has names. He also has theme gardens. You'll have to download the theme beds info. I've not looked at it before, but it should be just names, too. (I've never been interested in theme gardens) I'll put a link to Don's lists below. The other idea is to use the hosta registrar. That's where hosta are registered. You can look something up by a partial name, such as tar heel, Carolina, etc. Any name with that word in it will come up. It's at www.hostaregistrar.org. They are just the same as the hosta library, though. Not all named varieties are still available. Some never were generally available.
