parma if you hadn't heard, Plunkett's is going out of business so all 4 locations are clearing out. Isn't there one in your area? I'm heading to the one by me tomorrow to look at accessories - they've always had nice things. When I'm looking for the sturdier, nicer baskets, the secondary stores never seem to have what I'm after. I'll keep an eye out at Plunkett's for baskets tomorrow and let you know if I find any.

Plunkett's too!? I knew they had closed a few of their stores but didn't realize they were closing up shop. I've got to start reading the Trib (or Friday's Sun Times) a bit closer. :)

I just ordered a server from Walter E Smithe and they were busy, in the Geneva store, but I only go when they're having a big sale. Toms Price has been mailing a lot of specials, too.

I'll check out all the other great suggestions. I did see something online at William Sonoma that was nice but a bit too big. I'll call that a maybe. I'll be near a Crate &
Barrel tomorrow.

I think you mentioned before that you are in the Fox Valley area .... check out Simitree in Geneva. Last time I was in she had something very similar to basket in the photo above.

That basket looks a lot like one I purchased from Pampered Chef.

We came across this fabulous basket company on a road trip through vermont last year. Their retail store is full of such beautiful stuff(not just baskets) and excellent selection! I have not ordered anything from them online though! Ofcourse, its expensive but its great stuff!

How about an art fair? There are frequently basket makers at art fairs. If you want to make sure before going, you can call the art fair director to find out if there are any basket makers exhibiting that year. Plus, going to an art fair is a lot more fun than going from shop to shop searching. The atmosphere! The music! The energy!

Where are you located? You can go to Art Fair Insider to find out what is coming up in your area. IÂll look for a link and post it later. (need to get out into the garden before it gets too hot) There are several sites you can use to find out what is coming up in your area. The show IÂm in this weekend has a basket maker who practically sells out every year. She makes amazing things. (But thatÂs in Ohio).
