I have a shoe question....wedding

We're going to our sons wedding in KY this weekend.. I'm wearing white pants, frilly black and white print top , and sandals. I always wear good support sneakers, so this will be a challenge, but if I can hang on to DH I can handle it, Question is, he asked me if I was wearing hose, and I said no, I hadn't thought about it. I get better grip in my shoes without slipping around in hose. So, should I , or not.? I don't know what's acceptable.

I wouldn't since you are wearing pants. It will be warm and no one will notice.
Best to be safe. If you have time get a nice pair of flip flops for the end of the day when you walk back to the car etc.

It is neck and neck roses running equal to shoes, since I rent. Despite having an intention to simplifiy my life and buy fewer things that I don't need, which includes shoes I don't wear and roses bought or grown from cuttings on impulse 88 of those in the past. I've acquired 3 pairs of shoes that I bought more than a year ago and have not worn yet, though two are very stylish, black leather with ankle straps, one with leather pleating on the toe area, ( I love ankle straps and kitten heels). In addition to c. 12 other various footware, flats, heels, -one strappy pair of be-jeweled thongs, to wear with sundresses. - Doc Martin black leather boots, for Halloween mostly as I've outgrown mosh pits. - a demure pair of low cream heels for church on Sundays, and Evensong. --blue plastic beach thongs -two pairs of Clarks sandals, in brown and navy. - two pairs of sneakers, white, and blue. -Mary Janes Roses, I went from having c. 200 to care for, to c. 14 last time I counted, the problem is of renting. Still looking for a house to buy, or rather property to plant a rose garden, with a house on it. Note the roses come first. Oh, to have what Melissa has.... it is hard not to desire such vast beauty for my own, 500 roses in Tuscany, and to share it with loved ones. Lux.

Those with wood base board do you have shoe molding?

I think the shoe is sometimes used to hide any gap that may appear between the baseboard and floor as the wood of the baseboard shrinks due to seasonal variations in humidity. A wider base will shrink a bit more than a narrower one. So, depending on what materials are used and their dimensions, and whether it's all painted and if so how, this isn't an issue. That said, I have 5" wood base sans shoe and have no seasonal gaps. A shoe can also cover less careful work. If the floor is new, it should be flat and baseboard scribing, which takes some degree of skill, should'nt be necessary, giving you a better chance that the installed base will be tight to the floor, no matter who's installing it. I'd go without, unless your contractor has a good reason to use the shoe. Did an architect draw the plan? If so, maybe there's a design reason for it.

I'm not sure - but I'll list them and see: 2 pair basic pumps for work (black/navy) 1 pair black loafers (work/casual summer) 2 pair black ankle boots (work/asual winter) 1 pair knee-high snow boots 2 pair dress flats (silver/brown) 2 pair "dressy" heels (black/cream) 1 pair tennis shoes 1 pair yard loafers 1 pair flip flops for summer 1 pair black vinyl knee length heeled platform boots (for Halloween type dress up) 14 total, looks like. I'm okay with that - the "dressy" heels and flats I hardly ever wear, but I do need to keep them for those rare occasions I need a nice shoe in a specific color for a holiday party or some random event. I never wear the navy pumps, so those could probably go, but it's nice to have the option should I want it, and they're in good shape. I wear the heels out on a pair of pumps and ankle boots every year (due to daily wear, I'm sure), so I generally buy a new pair once per year, toss the old ones. This year I might see if I can just have them re-heeled though...

Who wears hose anymore! LOL!

It's a little too late, but Croc's makes some really comfy sandals now - and they aren't ugly like you would think of Croc's! They actually have some super cute styles!

I have the "Patricia" (without the back strap) - and those are super comfy. They have some arch support. They also come in a style with a back strap, if you are more comfy in that.

No hose with the sandles if you don't need them. I wear flats, as flat as I can get, if I can't wear my sneakers! For dress or casual.

Hose with sandals? Absolutely not. But yes, have your nails painted nice and pretty.

It's funny, when I read hose I just thought she meant knee high hose. I guess some wear pany hose with slacks for the added control top perhaps?

Definitely get a pedicure. Pedis look so much better than do-it-yourself.

I remember when Martha Stewart got publicly chastised for wearing hose with sandals. You don't want the fashion mavens taking you to task in People magazine, so forget the hose! ;-)

Don't be afraid to take your comfortable and safe shoes along and change at some point later in the festivities - once you've made your appearance no one is going to care if you choose to put something on your feet more typical of what you would usually wear. I've seen brides not accustomed to heels with sneakers under their gowns mid-way through the reception:)

You can't have your best time if your feet hurt and this is a day you should enjoy yourself - if it means not confining your feet to skimpy sandals for hours and hours and going home in pain, no one is going to mind you changing your footwear.

2 years ago my daughter wore flip-flops under her formal wedding gown -- cracked me up. And no pantyhose. Son is getting married in August in formal church wedding. I'll be in a mid-knee length dress, nice sandals and no pantyhose. You don't need to wear pantyhose with slacks and sandals. Enjoy your son's joy and don't worry about how properly you look. The wedding photos are about your beaming face, not what's on your feet.
