NIght shot at a local homestead.....the green color is a reflection from distant clouds, the red glow from car taillights passing on the nearby road...

These gentlemen on the island of Madeira were playing some game of cards where they would lunge forward and throw their card down in an attempt to play before someone else. It was the only time I've seen a card game that would qualify as aerobic exercise. They were hanging out killing time waiting to take tourists for a ride in a sled down the steep streets of the town. This British couple from the group I was with seem to be having a great time.

This is a lily from a previous year. Unfortunately, we are so limited on water in CA, and the lilies did not come up this year. More Japan. For any Disney fans, this is the entrance to Disney Sea theme park in Tokyo.

Oh yes, there will be beans, and thank goodness, they aren't on our property. The house next door that has been empty and uncared for in the last 9 years, had just one huge mature tree. But is these last 9 years Catalpas have come up all over and are now bearing flowers. Love their perfume and the flowers, but the huge leaves and the beans travel well come fall. Catalpas around here are considered junk trees. There are 3 non bearing ornamental Catalpas on that property that anyone would consider to be dead. This is one of the 3 ornamental Catalpa there. A short, about 12', rounded crown tree. Still the extra large leaves, but no flowering. The trunks on all 3 are split like this and mostly hollow, but they leafed out beautifully again this year.

Varigated Monkshood in the garden of my father-in-law's former house in Maine. AKA Aconitum, AKA Wolf's Bane, AKA Queen of all poisons AKA One of the most poisonous plants in the world.Apparently even brushing against it repeatedly while gardening or picking it without gloves can deliver a potentially fatal dose.

I have been doing a lot of puzzles at Jidigi.... those would all make awesome puzzles.
