We have made it to Camp Cheerio, and it is great. Other than very limited and troubled internet access, we are having a great time.

Oh my.....some beautiful quilts there, girls! We have our own group of great teachers here!!!!

I'm sure pics of the snack table and the dining room table tags will be forth coming? heh heh heh

I think we all wish we could be there, Beverly.

I'd like to encourage other forum members to try and come to the forum retreat October 8-11 of 2009 at Camp Cheerio in Glade Valley, North Carolina. This is a YMCA youth camp in a beautiful mountain-top setting. We will have a large area to ourselves to set up tables for our machines and all our "stuff." There may be space for quilters to sandwich and pin a quilt or you can bring hand work if you don't travel with a machine. The meals are wonderful and the lodgings are comfortable and clean. We would love to have more forum members attend! The price is very reasonable and you will have a great time! Teresa

Janice - monster quilt will go on the wall of grandchildren's play room downstairs. I must get it done before mid December when they start coming to visit for Xmas. It will get most of the embellishments after it is quilted but it wouldn't fit in the suitcase that way so I brought it just as a top. I'll post it again when you can see it finished. Linda

It's never too early to plan for next year! I will talk with them this week to pay them for this year, and then get on their calendar for next year. As soon as I confirm that, I will post the dates on the forum...usually the Columbus Day weekend. There's no official check-in like at a hotel. We can/do arrive anytime after lunch on Thursday. This year I was there by noon & I really liked that. We leave anytime Sunday that we want...usually we're all gone by noon, but could really stay later if we wanted.

Look how young that quilter is in the first pic lol!!!!!

They are all amazing but my focus right now is Christmas and I love that snowman.

Oh my..... It is beautiful there! Great quilts, ladies! I so want to go to one of these some day....

I am thinking about attempting a 'stained glass' quilt. Several years ago, I drew up & cross stitched nine different flowers that were growing in my gardens for a lap quilt. I think I will do the same for this one. Tutorials on that and the fabric boxes would be wonderful! With all I have to finish this weekend, they will just have to go to my 'want to do' list. :)

Oh,I'm so envious! I would love to attend this retreat. I will retire at the end of this month so it may be doable in the future!

Thanks so much Beverly for posting the "running commentary" in photos of the retreat. It certainly looks like a wonderful place. I would really like to make it there one year - and hope it can be next year!
Looks like there's a lot of fun mixed in with the sewing too
