The train that takes people to the top of Mt Washington in New Hampshire. I hiked up, and arrived just as two of the trains of tourists arrived and unloaded.

At the top there are a couple of research stations:

a restaurant/gift shop/restroom:

and a small pile of rocks, with about 30 steps leading up to a sign indicating the summit.

A couple of tourists from the train were going up the stairs to the summit in front of me, and I heard one of them exclaim to the other, "Wow its hard work going up all of these steps".

No train, but a bright color nevertheless. I watched and watched and never did determine what this craft's function was. He never really moved the boat. As a one person boat with dual outboards, I assume that this could really moved across the water. I reads Tow Boat, but doubt that it could tow much. Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Sharing the waterways in Newport Beach, CA.

Woohoo! Strawberry season is upon us. We picked 2 (3-litre) baskets. These are for eating and we'll get more at week's end. I want to make freezer jam this year as well.

This would be the excursion train crossing the Kinzua Viaduct shortly before a tornado took the viaduct down.

This is a mural of a train painted on the wall around the corner from a well known restaurant I frequent: Whistlestop Cafe/Irondale Cafe.

Not my picture, but I did have one of Nita when her family came to visit me, ever so long ago.

It's very rare that you eat there without hearing and seeing trains pass by across the street from the cafe.

People with kids and grandkids go across the across the street and sit on the benches just to watch the trains go by.

I've done it with my grandson :o)

Near the top of one of one of today's hills.

Gazania, wow!!! That "after" picture is amazing. Lucky no train was on it during the tornado!! Great pictures.

We still get to drive on residential streets next to moving trains.

A small powerful train called a "Mule" at the Panama Canal. The mules are attached to the ships in the lock by large cables. They don't pull the ships they just make sure the ships stay centered in the locks.

You can see here how little space there is alongside a ship in the locks.
