A road trip too long to be asked to bring a dish. ;o) Going to Ohio for the 4th, family reunion. They'll cook out and I will eat whatever is served. The standard picnic menu, I'm sure.

I'll be at a Fest hoping to sell my art work. DH and I will most likely do McDonalds on the way home.

marilyn sue, I am going to my middle daughters home in Leesburg Va for a cookout. Im bringing hot dogs and rolls, she is doing burgers and we'll have all the fixings to go with them. My oldest daughter is bringing brownies and whatever else she feels like whipping up. We'll watch the fireworks which are set off from a park very near her home. Should be lots of fun. Your menu sounds wonderful! Maybe I'll bring deviled eggs since I haven't had those for a really long time. Have fun. Satine

Well I'm going on a picnic with my husbands family but instead of a good old fashioned potluck type picnic everyone is to bring their own lunch. Where's the fun in that!? This family always has to do things for convenience sake all the time. I roll my eyes often at some of their ideas. So I guess we sit around a table eating from our fast food bags of by then cold burgers and fries. I'm predicting most of them will have stopped on the way and already eaten before they get there.

My cousin has a party at their house with croquet set up on the lawn and a good fireworks display at a park down the street. It's pot-luck style and I am bringing the calico beans in a crock pot. She always shreds turkey meat and serves with sauce and buns. It's always fun to see what others will bring.

A Yard Sale!!

Several of us here are having yard sales on the 4th. We've done it before and it turns out to be a good day. Always a good turn out on the 4th.

No big feast, everybody on their own.

Management will do fireworks at dark.

dh wants to go golfing, maybe this friday..don't know if any of the kids have plans other than my one dd has 2 parades this week. my dgds are in a baton group...

We are having a birthday party (a granddaughter who turns 11 years old) and Fourth of July celebration all in one! There will be about 40 people, all family, here. Those who want to can swim. I'm not sure what everyone might be bringing, but they have requested that I make pulled pork bbq and beef and noodles. I have hot dogs for the kids who might not like that. We will also have chicken, I think. Marilyn Sue, please tell me what are buffet potatoes? How are they fixed? Sounds like something my tribe might like. Your menu sounds great!

Good Morning
The buffet potatoes are cheese potatoes. I don't have a real recipe but these are what I put in it.

Partially cooked cubed potatoes, or use hash browns (frozen) 2 pound package (thaw before using)
1/2 of a vidalia onion finally chopped
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
16 oz. of sour cream
1/2 pound of shredded cheddar cheese or what ever amount you have and want to put in it.
Mix the above well and put in a 9 x 13 greased dish or pan.

Corn flakes crushed for the top and mix with a 1/2 cup of melted butter.

Spread the topping and bake in a preheated oven at 350 until nice and bubbly and toasty brown on the top. Not sure how long I bake it.

We will be having a pot luck. My BFF and I will be bringing B & G Burgers (loose meat). We both decided to make them at home and take along. Save us messing up our places up there.

I'm having a 4th of July BBQ at my place this year. I'm having:

Baby back ribs
Grilled Salmon
Baked beans
Deviled eggs
Grilled veggies: asparagus, vidalla onions, green beans and zucchini
Red potato salad
Cheese & fruit plate
Warm pie & ice cream or root beer floats for dessert
Lemonade and sun tea (iced of course)

Staying home, we no longer have barbecues or go to fireworks events, now that the kids are grown up. It will be just another Saturday for me.

We are having a pig roast at the park where Denny works...

Our pastor and his brother are spending the night in the park and cooking the pig...We are all bringing a side dish and deserts and other meat if we don't want to eat the pig.
The plan is to eat at noon.

Then later in the day my kids will be coming over...Carri, my middle daughter is bringing a friend and her hubby and kids...So we have about 20 there with fireworks...It should be a fun day.

COMPANY and i hope they bring food, lol sorry i was laughing so hard! we used to have clambakes every 4th of july, now im trying to figure out where i can squeeze 50.00 out of my already squeezed budget to get clams for me and my mom and dad. lol i guess were all squeezed this year.

We are on diets and can not gorge as we once did - too bad for our health. We'll watch the 4th of July Circus parade downtown Milwaukee (if it is televised again this year). I may go to the lake front a few days before the parade and walk around the staging area. They bring all the wagons in early and the public is allowed to get up close. Great photo ops.
