Another Divorce, but you may not all know them..

If anyone follows figure skating, both Olympics and professional, you may know Jamie Soleil and David Pelletier.

They were skating partners for years and got married 4 or 5 years ago. They are filing for divorce and have been separated for 18 months. What a surprise this was.

They'll still be skating partners.

Oh, dear--that's the worst one yet! Loved seeing them perform, and they seemed like such a sweet couple.

I just checked Amaryllis.com, and the prices seem reasonable--$12 for basic "Giant Amaryllis" bulbs, $15 for double amaryllises, and no single bulbs over $20. However, there is one problem: Shipping costs $8 for an under-$20 order, and it jumps to $10 for orders of $20-$50. This means that one double amaryllis would cost $23, which is a bit too much for me. It may be worth it if they had a wider variety, since the bulb I'm after, "Double Dragon," isn't there. I tried to e-mail the guy offering the $8 bulbs on CraigsList, but all I got back was an automated "message undeliverable" message....

I never put them together, but figured it was working out? Guess I was wrong now. Can you imagine Sandra thinking everything was fine and getting that slap in the face?? How humiliating to have your "dirty laundry" be in the public eye. I hope she can find happiness later on with someone decent! And I hope Jesse gets what he deserves.

Re: cornmeal and ants. Have been having a problem with ants on my sunporch. They seem to be living underneath and coming up through cracks in the tile floor. There's no way for me to get to where they live to spray (and I don't like sprays anyway). So I mixed up some cornmeal and borax in a little deli container lid and left it near where they've been arriving. It's been about a week, and the problem has considerably slowed. BUT they seem to be 'burying their dead' in the cornmeal mixture. I've actually seen a live ant dragging and leaving a dead one there! and there were several little carcasses last I looked. But hey--if it works, without dangerous chemicals, or smells that will give me respiratory problems, I'm thrilled.

I knew it, but didn't even consider it. My husband made way more than he did. Jannie, there are a lot of jerks out there. My husband retired from a very large well known company. He wanted me to go with him to sign his papers. I did and the lady explained that if he would give up $100 of his pension a month I could draw if I out lived him. My husband didn't even hesitate to say yes. When we got ready to leave she said, "do you know how lucky you are? Most husbands come in here with their papers already signed". I draw almost $900 a month and their wives would get nothing.

In both roller and ice it was not uncommon for partners to have a love/hate relationship. Because you are together for the greater part of you life it is easy to become extremely dependent on one another and mistake those feelings for "romantic" love. Lots of couples end up marrying and divorcing their partners. Many have had little real life date time with others. Skaters grow up and mature very quickly on one hand but miss out on the many life and social experiences of what regular non competitive kids have growing up.

Lots of extra-marital affairs with partners also. A roller or ice rink is like a regular Peyton Place or Sex and the City for the younger readers. LOL
