Abject GI pain in AM--I spent all PM in emergency rm

This morning I woke up to the worst gastrointestinal pain I've ever experienced. The pain came in searing waves of three -- one down my right side, one up the center, and another down the center -- so bad I was yelling at the ceiling. This and bad elimination (TMI), and I couldn't even keep water down. I've never ever encountered anything like this. The pain waves seemed to subside around 2 pm, but then I felt a bit feverish -- 102 degrees. I decided to drive myself to the emergency room, where they proceeded to take the usual set of blood and urine tests, and they put me on a drip. Next, they wheeled me down to ultrasound where very thorough screening indicated nothing out of place. I thought for sure I had passed a gall stone, but since I have never done so, I didn't know if I actually had. They said no. Then they put me on an antibiotic drip. My BFF (truly) came by to keep me company. That was so sweet of her.

I'm now back at home and will be on clear liquids and antibiotics for the next few days. Too bad that can't include white wine or a martini. Never did get a clear diagnosis. Even the antibiotics were "just in case". Don't get me wrong, the care I received was excellent -- it's just hard not having any concrete answers. Oh well, I'll be calling my GI specialist on Monday.

Still a little crampy, but 1000% percent better.
