I know that AVON sells sandals with the curved bottom.
They are very comfortable. Don't know if the sole is any thinner than what you currently have.
They are sold as Curves brand through AVON.
I'm going to get another pair.

While we are "talking shoes," I'm going to rant. When did it become a given that everyone has a wide foot? I live in a town of around 100,000 people and there is only one small independent store where I can buy shoes. Why, because I wear a narrow width. Oh, we have a Dillard's, Macy's, Penney's, etc., but they don't carry narrows anymore. None of the discount shoe stores carry narrows. In fact, a lot of shoe manufactures don't even make shoes in narrow sizes. Thankfully, there is the Internet. I have to order most of my shoes on line and, of course, if they don't fit or look right, I have the extra inconvenience of mailing them back. Can you tell how bad this irritates me? To add to my shopping misery, I also wear petites--not exactly a plethera of choices there, either.

I would love to order some crocs in the style that has a heel or wedge but I'm afraid to because they are sometimes too wide and don't want the hassel of sending them back. (narrow feet also). Anyone tried that style? No stores around here have the fun styles.

Cole Haan makes narrows, and their mediums run a bit narrow as well. Great shoes, check out the outlets or eBay as well (lots appear on eBay because they run a bit small, make sure you really know your size first).

I found these at Zappos, I've never seen them before. I don't know if they have a thinner sole, maybe you can write the Co.

Thanks for the ideas. mad_about_mickey thanks for the heads up about the Curves shoes on the Avon site, I didn't have any idea they had them. joann_fla I've tried on a pair of the MBT sandals but the sole is just as thick as my sneaker style.
If anyone else comes across any sandals with the curved bottoms PLEASE let me know what brand they are.

Try Earth Shoes. They do not have the curved sole but work on the same principle. They sort of "roll" like MBT do.

They have some GREAT Earth Shoe styles out now. Dressy ones. Sporty ones. Sandals. Athletic shoes.

Are these the shoes you are talking about? I can see me in a pair of the chelsea style or stunning style. The MBTs' are just too expensive for my blood. I love shoes, but my pocketbook does not.. It had rather buy things for my yard. LOL.

If you have a bad back and you walk a lot the MBT is worth the cost. I only buy the discontinued styles. I bought my first pair for $99.00, no tax. As soon as I wore them I bought a second pair. These are the shoes I bought. It's been a long time and they are sold out on most sizes.

None of these are expensive, they wear well
and are very comfortable.

rthummer, I hear what you're saying about cost, BUT if MBT's will put off knee replacement (which runs in my family) for even a year or two they are worth every penny. They are great for your back, knees and over all posture. I love my sneaker style, but need something for summer. My feet don't like to be closed in a hot shoe with socks in hot weather.

Here's another gripe about trying to find shoes that are not Medium width. Sometimes I can make them work by adding foam insoles. I used to be AAA; now an A. Have also gained a whole foot size to a 9. Who knew your arch flattens as you get old -- even if your weight stays the same?)

Thank you for the link. Yes, I could swing that price. Better than two hundred dollars. LOL. I can't walk alot as I have rhuematoid arthritis and problem with knees and nerve damage in legs from years of an illness I was born with. I am always looking for a perfect shoe. One of my dr. wrote me a prescription for speciality shoe. They are heavy AND they rubbed on the side of my foot really bad, and before I noticed it the side where the shoe had rubbed had turned black. I went to the dr. and it was a type of "dry" gangrene..Weird..I have been dealing with this foot for over 4 months now. It will not heal up. ARGH. I have skinny feet and if my foot moves around in a shoe it will rub and this is what happens. Well, this is the first time I got "dry" gangrene. I hope I didn't make you sick. (sorry)

I FEEL your pain about bad knees. For about 2 hours upon waking up.(:-) (remicade helps) Geez, I have one really bad knee (left) that is where my foot is messed up too from rubbing on shoe. That whole leg is a pain in the arse. I hope you don't hurt alot with you knees. Summers are better than winter.. I can actually walk some in summer, so I will check out the MBT"s on Amazon. I bought my first pair of MBTs today, a discontinued style at a local high end shoe store. It is interesting how the fit differs from style to style. The standard mesh athletic style were like huge pods on my feet -- although the length was fine, my feet felt totally sloshy in them. A few styles later, and I have a fairly narrow, closer fitting shoe, black leather lace-up. My knees felt so much better after just a few minutes walking around in them. The store manager spent an hour with me, and provided "lessons" in how to walk/roll with them. He also cautioned not wearing them for more than an hour or two at a time in the first couple weeks, as "new" muscle groups will make themselves very apparent early on. I was looking forward to wearing them to the AI concert tomorrow night...oh well.

Anyway, they look weird, but I get it now. For sandals, I think I'll look into the Avon Curves brand.

I get a catalog in the (snail) mail, that's called FootSmart. In flipping through it quickly, I see a few different sandals that have a curved bottom, but they don't look as thick as the MBTs to which Donna provided the link. You should check the FootSmart web site. Look for the Taos RockStep and for the Alegria brand (they have a clog style as well as "slides." Also look at the FitFlop sandals.
