Retreat checking in as I return home

Had a wonderful time at retreat! Just got home and wanted to start a thread for those of us who attended to check in letting everyone know we got home safely.

Kate and I arrived back safe and sound ( we think). Did you know most quilt shops in Virginia are closed on Sunday....Kate had internet access in the car and spent considerable time searching for quilt shops en route. We finally found one in Frederick...yes we stopped and shop....yes more fabric!!!
Safe travels to all... It was a great time!

Jennifer and I made it home safe and sound.
I had a great time as always! Hope to see everyone again next year!

I'm finally home too. Had a nice drive back to Baltimore with Valarie - she kept us alive through fog, rain and some heavy traffic. Had an excellent dinner with Val and her husband last night. Now I'm back home with the cats and will pick up the dogs this evening. DH Jim gets home from his trip tomorrow so by Tuesday night the family will be back together. Had a great time! I finished two quilt tops and made the lotto blocks for October and the 3rd quarter leaf. Even got started on the November lotto block but ran out of steam the last night and couldn't finish that one. Shopping, quilting, talking about quilting, planning more quilting, a fun road trip and time spent with friends - it doesn't get much better than that. And this Florida kid got to see some beautiful fall leaves, too! Kate

Thank you stephja007. The hallway is actually 42". We were thinking of putting a deck on that side, hence the door close to the kitchen. I would love to have the master in that spot! The only way to do that is to put one of the spare bedrooms in a different area - most likely where the master is now. It needs a window, so can't go along the back part of the house with other rooms on either side. If I put the kitchen at the back of the house, it will get even less natural light (unless it's going where the master bedroom was, then it will get southern exposure. Is that what you meant? Then the spare bedroom doesn't work again lol

Got back to Fort Collins about 10:45 pm last night. My flight arrived in Denver around 8pm and I missed the 8:15 shuttle by 10 minutes! Bummer. We took our son to the airport this morning - not India like he thought, but going to Chicago instead... At least it gave us a chance to see him on his birthday today. Got back from the aiport this afternoon and took my Pfaff over and they had a used foot pedal - at first he wanted $50 for it, but after I said that was too much, he came down to $30. I got it and it works great. Tobey & Tyler are going to take the other one apart - might be the internal circuit board in the pedal. Wish I was back in NC quilt, also!! Lois - so glad you had a good trip to Cuba - we thought of you while we were there and wondered how it was going. Sue

Barbecue Ribs & chicken for dinner -- like I was in NC!
I have decided I am a victim of TSA "Quilter Profiling"---
each airport -- this one was the worse --- I hope my brand new spanking machine still works after TSA man handled it - um - oh, I mean - 'inspected it' --- I now know why they say get there 2 hours early!

It was a great time as always. We have the most wonderful people attending -- all willing to share ideas and techniques & learn from each other. I always leave so inspired and with so much respect & admiration for my fellow quilters and quilters.

Thank you for another memorable Retreat.

Sorry I didn't check in earlier. I was so busy when I got home on Sunday, and today was a bad day at work trying to get caught up. Maybe the rest of the week will slow down? Not gonna happen, I'm afraid....

On a side note, I met the family at a restaurant in Knoxville on my way home and I got there first and they had me step outside to "show me something". Check out the new family addition. His name is Jasper and he's part sheltie and miniature collie? He's about 6 weeks old and cute as can be! The kids are constantly fighting over who is going to hold him.

Marsha, I had my own problems with TSA this time: the zipper on my checked suitcase was so damaged I had to cut my bag open! It was old and needed replacing anyway so I'm not terribly surprised.
