I'm not a pink person at all. In fact, I pretty much detest the color pink. But if I were a pink person, I'd say that your home reflects the height of pink class from stem to stern. Really lovely. :)

You've created a charming room! I like the pink on your LR walls. It's just a tad stronger than our pink MBR walls, which we've lived with for 18 years (am about to change that now, but for the sake of change, nothing wrong with the pink). That color is very kind to skintones and so easy on the eyes! And I love the tablescape under the butterfly pictures, especially the box and the cat. Very pretty.

I'm with organic_smallhome as pink is at the bottom of the list of colors I like. It looks to me like it tie in really well with your furnishings and spaces. Although I don't like pink I think it works really well in your space and you did a great job in decorating your home.

Well my husband would kill you! He's lived with me and my pinks for the past 20 years. In our new house his only request was that there be no pink! I had a pink striped couch in our first living room which I coordinated with pink striped wallpaper in the adjoining dining room. Then throughout both rooms I had custom made chintz draperies that had....guess what?? A pink striped background. The drapes and couch now live in our bedroom with a matching custom bedspread. (I really liked that fabric 12 years ago!) The new bedroom....it will be browns and greens, but I am trying to slip in a little burgandy accent.

There are no colors that I dislike so long that the colors are used well---and you did well with your rooms! I've seen some gorgeous, inspiring pink rooms in books and it's fun to see someone here use it. I like the pale walls in your sitting room especially. Nice job!

Well, I love Pink, but have never seen it done well in any room except a bedroom . . . until now. You've done a wonderful job keeping it classy and not cutesy. Congrats!

Thanks so much, all of you! You just don't know the angst I've experienced over this color issue! It's so not trendy & I wondered if the net result was just fuddy-duddy or/and too frou frou, or otherwise just a flop! Your positive feedback puts my mind at ease. I feel reassured that there are some people w/well-trained eyes who do not find the look offensive, & even approve of it! Thanks again!

I grew up in a nearby town to Madonna Inn, which if you've never seen it, is the ultimate in pink decor. It was my favorite spot as a child and never failed to fill me with awe and wonder, though now I'd have to say it's a TAD overdone and gaudy. You, on the otherhand, have somehow figured out how to do pink with class.

I remember your post from a week or so ago. It doesnt look bad. It looks very tasteful. But if you are ready for an inexpensive change, paint will change the look of everything. I think you had mentioned you might be moving in the future. For resale, the pink might distract most buyers, so if you are looking for change, I would do it now,,,,the room will take on a new look.

You make pink work in a room, and that's not an easy thing to do. Love the pink settee and the vignette with the butterfly prints (of course I would!) The blush pink on the wall is subtle, you chose well.
I've scattered pink and strawberry colors throughout my house. I grow pink flowers and even wear a lot of pink...so you won't get any arguments from me on having a pink living room. :o)

That's probably at least 10 years away, but perhaps in 5 yrs, when I may be getting new windows, & those drapes will come down during the install, it will also be a good time to re-paint. Both are Benjamin Moore colors: Queen Anne Pink, & Somerville Red, which isn't really red at all as you can see! I describe it as a plummy color w/some brown in it. As the afternoon light comes in (have window over entry door & large window at stairway) it looks very plummy. When the sun isn't pouring in it looks more subtle & brownish. Light really makes a huge differece in the appearance of paint colors!

Your rooms are lovely. The pink is not overpowering. I prefer just a dash of pink, I just add it with cushions and flowers.

I love your beautiful, classy room and especially the rugs. I had to laugh, because it had such a similar feel to my own living room.

when i read your original post i was having a really hard time picturing this. I think it looks great! I could see why you would maybe question yourself over time because it's not real common. LOVE the sofa!

Like your warm & cozy room. Have seen the Chippendale Rosetone paint swatch & liked it too. Queen Anne pink is a little peachier, I think. Like your rug. Your room has a somewhat masculine feel. A leather sofa always will bring an earthy element to a room. Nice.

Very charming -- and those shades of pink have been used in both English "drawing rooms" and French "salons" (sitting rooms) for centuries. The pink tones are very flattering to those folks sitting in such wonderful rooms! ((always a bonus point in my opinion!))

I would love to see a standing lamp on the right-hand side of the sofa. Perhaps simply move the tree back just a bit to accomodate a lamp? And then switch the lamp on the console table to the right-hand side.

You are so lucky that your room is a very nice shape -- and very workable for so many layouts! I really do like yours!

Teacats! Thanks for responding so quickly & for the affirmation & suggestion. Had wondered about a floor lamp in that spot. I think the tree is too small, actually, but didn't think I could do BOTH the tree & lamp...interesting idea. I do have glare issues w/that lamp & the butterfly print, so the floor lamp off to the side would solve that (I think). This summer will be replacing that horrible ceiling fixture in the entrance w/something much nicer! Will also be changing that door at the end of the hall to a paneled door as this plain one looks like it belongs on a tool shed or something! Thanks again!
