trust me there WILL be tears, from parents, other friends and relatives and the students. This is their last time together as a class, from now on things will change for each of them and they won't have the closeness they have shared all these years. They are already drifting away as they plan to go to college/jobs and leave home. Tell her to enjoy this very precious time with friends because after Fri night their wings will start spreading as they all take flight.

Grauduation releases a flood of emotions .The kids are excited ,looking forward to the next phase of their life, and the Moms and Dads are caught in the middle..almost wishing they could turn the clock back.Their babies are off to conquer the world. Bring plenty of tissues Stacy.My oldest granddaughter graduates high school next week, there will be plenty of tears that day as well.

My son's graduation and party was this past weekend. I cried during the whole graduation, well almost the whole thing.
The party was a blast and now he's getting up every morning to work for his dad. I'm feeling in shock and tired as heck too. So many changes for his future has my head swimming in thoughts. I'm telling myself to take it all in stride and hope for the best.

I'm guessing your going to cry so take along plenty of Kleenex! For me it was emotional to see DS graduating but seeing his buddies walking down that isle made me cry for them too! The older I get the more tears I make...
Advice, through all the tears, put on a big smile,, remember how happy you are for her. Congrats again!

I agree with you, Stacy. DO take some tissue.
When Michele graduated in '97; I did not cry,I snobbed.
It was loud and I just could not stop.
At the recent time, I had just divorced herfather and moved 2 hours away.
I wish you all the best and Congratsto Sydney.
Also I will be thinking ofboth of you on Friday.

You'll cry Stacy. I cried at all 4 of my DD's and my DGS a couple of years ago. Now Nathan is next. I've got 2 more years before he graduates. I'm tearing up already. They're so happy, and your happy too, but yet you feel your losing them somehow. I did anyway.

I am losing her!! She will be going to college 2 hours away and I am not ready!! And that is all she talks about...she prenrolled Monday and knows how long it will take to get her degree and everything has her housing lined up and has her bedding for her room! I am not ready heck I am not ready for Tanner to drive next year...this is all happening to fast for me!! Stacy

I downed a bottle of wine and cried all one day during the summer before my DS graduated. THOUGHT I had gotten it out of my system, but no! LOL I agree with Toni - it's not just your child, it's seeing all the other kids, too, that are like your own. You've watched them grow up, know their stories, they've spent time at your house, etc.

At the end of my DS's graduation there was a standing ovation and it went on and on. The longer it went, the more I bawled. (Which is kind of ironic, because he was not a good student and was thrilled to be getting out of school.) He was just 17 and had not a clue as to what he wanted to do and I was just scared to death for him.

Now, DD? That was a different situation. She was a great student, always did homework, no doubt that she would graduate, etc. I was very proud of her and shed a few tears, but knew she was going to move out and go to college, etc. We had had so many wars in the last couple of years before she graduated that I was just plain tired!

Trust me, GrinchGut, from what I know from you on the KT - you better hope they put the levees up! LOL

LOL Thanks guys....yeah I have been watching the senior video over and over today then I get the mail and a flood of graduation cards....tears already it is really sad I am soooo proud of her because she has come such a long way I never thought we would ever get her back in school and now she is already enrolled in college!! And excited......I am sooo proud but soooo sad too.....Stacy

I cried like a baby during graduation, but oh the SMILES on those proud faces were so happy!
Then I was fine, moved the first DD into her apt in a town 2 hours away and did really well. I missed her terribly, but didn't cry. Then the 2nd DD moved and that one was such a homebody she always said we'd have to push her out of the nest! I knew it would be hard for her that day she moved to the big city, I did good til it was time to say good-bye and leave to come home. Started crying and I cried the whole trip home. We get home and here she'd already called my best friend sobbing and wanting to come home! We can laugh about it now, she has moved twice and both times returned to and still lives in this town! I am super happy she is here too! NOW I cry when the first DD and the boys leave from visiting!
Its all part of growing up for them. Pretty darn hard on the Moms though! She will be back lots to visit, I bet any money on it!

I cried when my first daughter had her first dance recital, at age 3. I've cried at every event since.

LOL Jannie....I have done better then that and with all my family around maybe I will be a big girl...but since I have always been a crier I am sure I will be that night too......I'm trying to hang but they are all almost gone now...I thought I would be fine when them getting older and moving out on their own but I think I have been lying to myself!
