I like your first two choices the best stylewise. I don't know how they would work out as far as storage is concerned but I know that I would miss having top drawers.

In my book function always trumps for kitchens and baths. Style is great, but both of those rooms are too important to be a slave to it. A compromise would be the ideal. You're fortunate to have such a large vanity area. Ours is less than half that size. I'm just grateful we have a linen closet and medicine cabinet.

Like sliding closet doors, I expect sliding doors on a vanity would get frustrating, especially if you and your spouse share the vanity.

I wonder if there would be a way to add drawers inside the sliding doors, maybe that would be too awkward or hard to do?

If you had not already purchased the granite top and sink, I would have suggested getting a narrow depth cabinet in which the sink extends beyond the cabinet.

I too have a narrow small bathroom and would like to switch out to a narrower cabinet.

But to answer your questions, if these are your only choices, I would do function over style and go with the Kraftmaid. But that's me. However, I lived for years with a cabinet with no drawers and did just fine.

I like the sliding door idea, but it wouldn't be functional for me.

I purchased Jim Bishop cabinetry for our bathrooms and laundry room. Some are painted, others stained, and all are glazed. I had the man/dealer I purchased them through add feet to all but the laundry room cabinets. Gives them a more furniture like appearance and they are up high enough to make vacuuming under them easy.

Yes, go for function, absolutely. You use that vanity every day, and everything about it will affect how your day begins.
Spring for wonderful hardware, and add feet under the toekick. Here's a source for a great variety of feet, if you don't already have one...

you are going to want those drawers, I promise! I have a vanity now that is like the prettier ones you're considering. I curse it daily and yearn for drawers, which would help me organize better and really use the space I've got...

Think of it this way: it will not be hard at all to give the Kraftmaid cabinet a facelift. Paint, feet, some new handles, and it'll look really different. Now just imagine what it would take to build more drawers into the better-styled pieces, if you can even have that done at all.

Get the Kraftmaid and put the saved money towards bronwynsmom's pretty furniture feet, and some snazzy handles.

I'd be afraid to go with bottom drawers, as they would be quite inconvenient and drawers offer much needed utility in the bathroom.

Thanks. Here's the exercise bath. I had him pull the sink cabinet (center) forward a bit....or either it was ordered a different size then the side cabinets. Don't recall. Used more bun like feet here. He was able to order matching stain and glaze from cabinet company to use on the feet.

I too would go with fuction in the bathroom. It's not like you can't make it more stylish, like others mentioned, by adding feet or how you finish it off. And with the style you pictured there's always paintable wallpaper to add texture to the panels on the doors and drawers like I did to this old cabinet.....

If you will be using the area every day and the vanity is the main storage cabinet, by all means go with the Kraftmaid. Bending all the way down to get into those sliding doors would get old, quick. Pull-out shelves inside would make it much better, though.

KM has a few darker glazed finishes that are very rich looking. We went with the white foil with beadboard in the kids bath and even though I don't use them on a daily basis, I LOVE them! We upgraded to the soft close and every drawer opens completely -- no more digging around the back for things. We changed the false front drawers under the sinks to tilt-out's with full stainless steel baskets... those fit toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste and much more.

If you have great knobs and/or pulls, some people seem to notice those and not the cabinet themselves. I've had people not notice the beadboard because they were so drawn to the knobs.

You might look around IKEA's cabinetry, also. People say it's very well made. If too modern, you might be able to put something together to your taste by adding feet and changing out the hardware.
