Cutting Corian is easy enough. Standard woodworking tools like a jigsaw, trim saw, oscillating tool, router, jab saw, disc sander, orbital sander, and belt sander might be used. Slow and steady is best. Personally I would not use a reciprocating saw ("Sawzall") - I find those too violent/hard to control for precise tasks - but I am very conservative by nature; I'd rather spend a little extra time to avoid risk of doing damage. Most of the cut will be simple; the hard part will be getting into the corners. That's where a jab saw could be useful - being a hand tool it's slow, but that's not a big problem for short cuts. The corners should be radiused no less than 1/2". The edges should be rounded over and smooth (no chips or cracks). These steps are necessary to reduce the risk of cracks developing and propagating. Maybe you can find a sink that will fit almost exactly inside your existing one, but I think that's less likely than finding a slightly larger one. You have to consider the shape as well as the simple dimensions. Since you almost certainly can't increase the size of the bowl very much, I envisage cutting the existing bowl off flush with the bottom of the counter, then enlarging/shaping the opening slightly as required. During the cutting, the bowl will need to be supported from underneath to avoid it breaking away and causing damage. The whole cutting/finishing job should take less than two hours. igloochic : I totally agree with you!: I would personally only go with a Blanco or Franke (just my opinion) (I think the cheap cheap SS brands: like what is in apartments have to be the bad ones. I live in an apartment now: and my ss sink looks : not so good! I polished it: and waxed it and it looks better: yes it has sum rust: and I used grout & tile cleaner: worked! Not recommending that !!!!! lol!!!!! Lime and rust away: pretty much: it's stained a bit : more shine vs less shine: I waxed the sink: water rolls right off down the drain& sink surface looks better! LOL! I don't recommend that either: I did it because I wanted to: and it's an apartment!) My father inlaw has ss from 1971: it looks ok (SS) but I couldn't tell you what brand. It's scratched up a little bit & probably stained: meaning parts are have more shine vs. less shine. No rust! 37 years old! My aunt has a $200 white kohler drop in kit sink: won't mention the model: I feel bad about that: but it's true: looks terrible!//1 year old: looks TERRIBLE! Stained within 2 months. Don't understand: not a $1000 sink. I personally like the SS: with SS appliances: I hated my corian sink: stained within a month or two! ~Happy Holidays~ (My Grandma was a firm believer in cleaning with Vinigar: raw lemons, baking soda, rubbing alcohol and a little bit of Dawn soap.) Not so good for granite! Ok for SS! To much acid and too much chemicals for natural stone! LOL *****I have heard 2 customers complain about their "granit" sinks: Lowes/HD brand: they hated them! they replaced them. They both said too hard to keep clean: but hey everyone is different!

I came up with a workaround that should eliminate or significantly reduce the stink. Besides the overflow tube being a horrible design, the round piece that connects to the bottom of the sink (2nd photo) seems like it is designed to grow nasty stuff. By the way, I originally tried replacing the white tube with the clear tube in the photo. I did this without any modifications. The water backed up so bad into the tube that there was at least a half inch by 4 inches of water sitting in the tube at all times. The old tube actually had mold growing all the way up to the top of it. And, I flush it out with bleach often. I took the drain apart and removed the round drain piece connected to the bottom of the sink. I replaced the overflow drain with a non-overflow drain with a pop-up stopper. The overflow tube was diverted further down the drain pipe so that there is more of an angle. The water no longer backs up into the tube. It required a little creative engineering to connect the tube to the drain. The plastic piece that connects to the overflow hole at the top of the sink also came off (as other people have mentioned) when I put this all together. I cleaned it and the sink up good. For the plastic piece, I used a carpet blade and a flathead screwdriver. Then I used a Dremel with a pointed grinding type bit to etch both the plastic and the Corian to make sure the adhesive would stick. I used Loctite PL Marine adhesive sealant and it worked great. This stuff is super sticky so make sure you wear gloves. Also, let it dry for at least 24 hours before assembling everything. If you can, use some sort of shims to wedge between the plastic piece and the cabinet. If you don't have shims, just hold it in place for a couple of minutes. Hopefully this works to get rid of the stink. At least it will be a lot easier to clean out with bleach every now and then. I did this modification for both my Corian bathroom sinks and it is amazing how good the bathrooms now smell (or don't smell).

Corian colors are remarkably consistent throughout the years, so a match shouldn't be too tough. Some Corian vanity bowls are thermoformed from sheets and the heat from the thermoforming alters the color from the sheet it will be attached to. A bevel edge instead of a rounded edge fools the eye fairly well in that situation.
