My world looks pretty much like that of UNBIDDEN. There was some melting today, as the temps were in the high 40s and we had a big all-day rainstorm yesterday. Just enough to give a spring-like smell to the air and tantalize. Already the radio weatherman says to prepare for a lot colder weather starting Monday, and possible MORE snow Wedneday. Argh! It's not fair. I've had to plan errands with care. Every errand depended on whether I thought I could get a parking space upon my return, as every other place to park a car was piled high with snow and at the same time competing with the thoughtless students at a nearby college, who think it's fine to leave 3 or 4 feet between their car and the next car fore and aft. So people who own residences can't even park in front of their own home! Having to park 2 and 3 blocks away from my own home, especially when carrying heavy packages, is not fun, especially when it's icy. The students couldn't care less.

Big Boy vs Better Boy

I have not grown them side by side, myself to review them. One season ( long time ago ) I grew one of them. Can't remember which one. The plant was not very fast growing. The fruits were round ( ~ 4 -6 oz) grown in cluster. The taste was fine. But recently I have read quite a few reviews here and there. The general consensus ( ~80% ?) was that Better Boy is superior. Better Boy has been also compared to Big Beef and Brandy Boy but has not come out as the winner . YMMV Sey

Believe it or not , I collect all the bluebonnet seeds and throw them around elsewhere but they keep coming up in the cactus garden where I WEED THEM OUT except for a few in the areas far from the cactus and other plants. Bluebonnets are good for the soil but they kill by smothering, other delicate plants like cactus. They were out HELPING me with weeding this morning. Lionel likes to roll in whatever I am pulling and paw at me for attention and games. George looks on. They are my somewhat wild cats that match my somewhat wild garden.

We only got one granddaughter and now a GGrand daughter, but those BOYS were really this Nanny's faves!Of course, I have to remind myself that the boys spent many of their early years close by. But, you will have a great time no matter,.... I am sure! Hoping all is going well!

I had six grandsons before the girls happened. I remember how much fun it was to buy "girly" things.

She finally arrived. Daughter sent this pic after 3 am so they had a long day. She looks like a big one.

Congratulations all around! On with the PINK!

Our DIL is the youngest of three girls. Her eldest sister has one girl. Her middle sister has two girls. Her family *knows girls*. There was a bit of panic when our DGS arrived nine years ago. Six years later, DGD arrived -- to take advantage all the pink hand-me-downs.

Hope you enjoy the young lady, Ruthie.

I thought that there were twins, for a minute, there.

What's all this about "pink" stuff for girls ... I thought that contemporary girls were supposed to be choosing their own paths in life, without being escorted down pre-ordained paths.

Dad was the only child in his family, he had three sons with Mom, and we got a ready-made sister with the second marriage, a bit younger than we, just ready for teen years.

I have one of each, one was married, no kids, other hasn't been married has a special friend, but they are both 50, so, barring (improbable) adoption, not figuring on grandkids.

When daughter's marriage failed, after about five years, I said that it was fortunate that there were no children, and her reply was that the way that things had been for the last while, one wasn't about to have any.

Looks like the end of the line coming up for our branch of the family tree.
