So what'd you think?

I enjoyed all of the show except for that last song Janet Jackson sang. Loved the old bands like Hall and Oates and Chicago! Thought most of Simon's farewell was well done and I got a kick out of the 'Pants on the Ground' guy. lol

I was surprised that Lee won over Crystal, although Lee has been my favorite since auditions. I'll definitely be looking forward to his first cd. LOVE his voice!!

It was a hard Joyce I would have like to see Crystal but I bet there will not be a looser.

It hasnt came on here yet but I always like to know ahead who won. I am really happy Lee won but really, there are no losers. Crystal will be just fine and I'm sure she'll be signing a record deal tomorrow! I just love how humble and likeable Lee is. I can't wait to see his reaction to hearing he won.

Is it true that Bret Michaels performed? I wish the poor guy would let his body heal.

Always remember, the show does what they want--the votes mean nothing more than a general opinion poll (there's a disclaimer to that fact at the end of the show, as a matter of fact). I've watched the show since the beginning, and it's obvious that often they stick someone popular, who the producers like in the bottom three, just to create a 'buzz'. It is Fox, after all--just take it for what it is--pure entertainment, NOT a show where YOU are actually picking the winner. Note, I'm not saying the votes are totally unimportant--the producers use them to find out who the public likes, but they learned early on about picking a winner who is difficult to work with--they won't let anyone win who isn't going to toe the contractual line. Paul--Love him, but he's not there to win, just to promote his band. He's pretty much said that--so there's no way, the show is going to waste the top spot on him. Although, he does have one of the most interesting and unique voices I've heard in a long time. He'll go far--he's already gotten what he entered for--name recognition. Pia is so talented, but she's vastly over-trained (she went to the performing arts high school, as you know)--to the point where she is all technical perfection and NO personality. It's annoying, sometimes to watch her sing, with her practiced hand gestures. Nothing natural about her. Don't think she's got a shot. I do like Scotty--his voice is so mature for a child, and he's finding a way to stay true to his roots and talent week after week. Don't think he'll win, but he'll be around for a lot longer. Casey's wonderful, but with his health problems, he hasn't a shot of winning--the producers aren't going to pin the responsibility of heading months worth of concerts on someone who may miss half of them for health reasons. And he hasn't been growing the past few weeks. Having a mental block here--the kid with tourette's? He's great--even though he's a rocker, he actually has a very, very good singing voice. Haley? There's a part of me that doesn't want to like her, and yet, I almost always find myself fascinated by her performances. She's definitely a unique specimen, isn't she? Lauren is okay. Good voice, but just a little too immature in a lot of ways for this year. It's a little sad that they opened the tryouts up to 15 year olds, because most of them simply aren't seasoned enough. At least the ones they found. Don't care for Jacob's off-key singing. Antonio annoys me--all he went through after being the victim of a drunk driver, then to be picked up for a DUI the next year? I really hope he doesn't win, for that reason alone (and he's not up with some of the others.

The bottom 4 were Jacob, Lauren, Scotty and Casey. They sent Lauren and Jacob to safety, so it came down to Scotty or Casey. I liked Casey--wasn't surprised, though. Have said all along, there's no way the show's producers were going to pin their next year's profits on the shoulders of someone with his medical issues. It's a shame, but that's the way it is.

Gayle, I think you mean Allison too. Remember last year there were 2 contestants (Michael Johns and Carly Smithson) who both had had prior record deals... but neither of them made it too far in the competition. Then there was David Archuleta who had won "Star Search" and ended up in the top 2. Adam may be on broadway, but I think it's still fair that he's in the competition. Having sang on broadway may even hurt some singers since AI is not looking for that 'type' of singer. It doesn't seem to be hurting Adam though because he is very creative and 'current'.

I totally agreed with the bottom 2--and would have been okay with either being eliminated. Thank goodness S. is gone--he really was the least talented, and most cocky of the group. In all honesty, the girls aren't much better than he, but will probably eke out another week or so, simply because I don't think they want to get rid of them all too soon. Hard to guess who will win. I've said it before--I don't think the producers will want to pin their next several months' profits on someone with serious health issues (Casey). Hard to picture James even going on that show--performers of his genre are adamant about 'selling out' and steadfastly remain small, performing in coffee shops, etc, rather than going that route--so he's not really genuine. My dd would probably call him a 'poser'. He's good though, and can actually sing very well when he's not screaming. I do like him, I just can't figure out why he even tried out for AI, IF he's truly the kind of singer he is trying to make out that he is. I like Scotty, but he could definitely use a couple more years of prep before he becomes a pro. He does have a great voice--but not one suited to the 'assignments' they give on idol. He's country, and nothing but country. I do think it will finally come down to probably Casey and James, with James winning.

Honestly? I found the acts very disappointing. They just weren't good, nor up to the standard we've become accustomed to in past AI finales.

But obviously, they spent most of the budget on Janet. It would have been nice, though, if Janet had included Paula in her act since it was Paula who was there for her when she was starting out.

The results weren't a big surprise. Lee is quite obviously the most marketable, and he had the song that made sense for the winner to sing. DD and I knew last night, when we heard their songs, who was going to win, it was pretty obvious who was being positioned for that.

America got it right.

I was an early fan of Crystal (though still preferred Lee -- more my musical style)-- but she just became so screechy, IMO.

I am happy to hear he didnt jump around. I just worry his body is going to give out with all this stuff he's been doing. I really like him. I'm glad he received such a warm welcome from everyone. He seems very humble.

I loved the show. I like Lee but Crystal is the better singer. I love that she didn't "change" for the show. She is what she is...a huge talent. And she will be bigger than Lee just like Adam is bigger than Chris. If I were a teen age girl, I would certainly have voted for Lee.My favorite part was Chicago and Lee. I've always loved them. Have all their songs on my iPod. I loved Brett and Casey. I love the whole top 10. Nice kids. I really like our little PA boy. He has such a powerful voice for a kid. I'll miss Simon. My least favorite was Janet Jackson. I loved Joe Crocker. How old is he now? He always looked rough.

Even though this was not an exciting season for me, I think it turned out well in the end, Lee being the most improved ; I think Lee and Crystal could have success in recording a few duets. It will be odd not having Simon there next year.
The show was entertaining, loved seeing the winners of the past.

I never heard Lee (I don't watch the show), but I caught a couple of Crystal's numbers on YouTube and thought she was fabulous. Lee must be remarkable!

I think the right one won, I prefer Lee's style but Crystal is terrific too so I would not have been too disappointed had she won. I enjoyed the show for the most part, I thought Paula's return was a waste of time but at last she was sober.

I'm sorry to see Simon leave, his is the only opinion I really respected and believed.

Alice Cooper was truly awful last night, but frankly, all the old guys were way past their prime. I salute their past talents and contributions, but so many of them (all of last night's included) just don't know when to stop performing. I would so much rather "remember" them and honor them than be embarrassed for them.

I really wanted Crystal to win, but knew all along that she would come in second to Lee. I like Lee too, and wish them both the best.

Hahahahaha, Donna, hubby and I said the same thing. When Chicago was performing I wanted to cover my ears at a few points....oh man.

I enjoyed most of the show, but was so disappointed when Lee won. He's just ok to my ears..nothing distinctive or pleasing about his voice to me.

I also agree Crystal will go much further in her music career than Lee.

I don't watch the show either, but I just you~tubed Brett Michaels and Casey.. that was really good!

Well, it looks as if I'm definitely in the minority here. I think that America made the absolutely right choice when they voted for Lee ! From the very first night of competition, I thought Lee was wonderful and was the person I wanted to win this competition. I think he is very "commercial"...meaning that I think his music will be attractive to many different age groups and genres. Although Crystal has a powerful voice, I'm not sure who will buy her music. I can see people in my age group, that remember and loved Janis, being potential fans but I can see young people becoming real fans. I can't wait to buy another Lee Dewyze cd (I already own two).

I'm so glad Lee won. I like them both but he seems so humble to me. I'm sure they will both do well. I loved the Simon send off and bringing back all the old winners and contestants. I will really miss him. I'm not sure I will watch without him on there. I wonder who will take his place.
