Magnets, Magnets Everywhere. Help!

I am new to this website and need help with an idea I have for my magnets that were previously all over my fridge. I no longer wanted them there so I bought a magnetic board and removed all of the frame and the backing. After removing the backing the magnetic part began to curl. I am holding it down with books. I want to make this a wall hanging for my kitchen. I will place the magnets on the magnetic surface, frame with molding I have painted to match the kitchen décor and then put on the wall with a large fork and spoon.

Here's my question: Can someone recommend a lightweight backing that I can glue the magnetic sheeting to? I don't want it to be heavy because it has to hang on the wall. A coworker suggested some kind of stiff Styrofoam. Do any of you have other suggestions? The end result is going to be nice and unique as I've never seen magnets in a group setting before. BTW, the magnets are all State magnets.

Thanks so much.
