I had an opportunitty to drive past a small lake this morning on my way to work. Some goslings must have just hatched in the last couple days.

I have to laugh when I see one parent goose standing in the middle of the road to stop traffic and the other parent and kiddies scurrying across! Happened to us quite often in GA- we had a lake in the neighborhood.

    Awwww!
Lots of geese nesting over here.
Those babies are adorable and will grow up to be as beautiful as the parents!

They are beautiful, but a nuisance where I live.
Even hold up traffic when they cross the road in busy areas!
Have no fear of cars, and take their darn time.

My DD had to stop her car yesterday to let Mama duck cross the road followed by THIRTEEN! ducklings (wish she could have taken a pic of that!)

I did see what you saw in my neighbors yard just last week.Since the yards are all fenced off , with very few areas for a small animal to get by, I was stunned to say the least to see a family of gosslings walking around her yard for a couple of hours..Never did see how they finally exited, but the funniest thing was at least a couple of hours later they were seen parading down my street. Photograph was printed in local newspaper.

What's heartbreaking, is darned near every spring, a duckling or two fall down the sewer grate while crossing the street. There's always a pic of a firefighter rescuing them. Breaks my heart everytime I hear of the little ones falling.
