The Kitchen Table

I have two books to give

I have two books that I no longer need. One of them is Dr. Gott's " No Flour, No Sugar Diet ". The other is " Clutter's Last Stand " by Don Aslett. I've been trying to think of a fun contest, but I just can't think of anything right now, so I will just ask you all if you are interested in one or the other or both, just let me know. It's a first come, first served deal through e-mail. I'll mail them to you the first of next week. If there are no takers I'll take them to the Goodwill Book Store.

E-mail me at MscSippy at AOL.com if you are interested.

Put something about KT in the title so I won't delete your e-mail.

On the back of the dust jacket it says he was a lawyer, newspaper man. It also talks about his being in the Spanish-American War as a Lieutenant. A Captain of Calvery on the Mexican border. A Major in the World War. In the picture on the DJ, he is wearing a suit vest and tie and is a really nice looking man. Neil unfortunately didn't like him and when he did come home for a visit he brought his tent and made Neil and his brother sleep outside and would get them up way before day break to see the sun rise. ( it doesn't sound so bad to me) Neil just says he was so strict everyone was afraid of him. I can remember Neil's mom saying she didn't like it when Papa came home and that he was too strict. I'm thinking if he was in the military, he probably was pretty strict. Neil looks a lot like him. It's a shame he doesn't have any good memories of him.

Yes I have....and a few of the follow up ones as well. I loaned them all out to an old neighbor and never got them back. After she moved I realized she never returned my books. I love that series and wanted to collect them again. It was a sad, sad life for David Peltzer, but he did well as he grew up. Very good books!

Hi Hu, Check out your local plant swap events if there’s any. We are fortunate to have San Antonio plant swap organized by Loreleicomal from Houzz Texas gardening twice a year at Rogers Park in balconies heights. There are still out of town plant folks that have been coming as far as Dallas and Galveston bringing all kinds of plants to trade or just giving away for fun. You are welcome to join. Check out the next swap in 2019 will be in April. Regards, Mamachile

As I look around ... and consider that I've lived here for over 2 years ...

... I think that I should have requested the clutter one.

It would have cost quite a lot more to have shipped it over the border, though.

If I were to have to do without either flour or sugar (and I'm glad that, with the recent increase in the price of flour, that I'd bought a couple of 22 lb. bags of whole wheat flour a while ago, for the bread machine .. but wish that I'd bought quite a lot of all-purpose, as well, for I use much more of that) ...

... I'd consider myself seriously deprived, I think.

Thanks for your generosity, mscsippy.

P.S. Could you use an extra shoe?

LOL at you Ed. The reason I still have that one shoe is because it was a new shoe and quite costly. I just can't bring myself to part with it even though I can't use it. Maybe I should just feed it to Luther too. He sure seemed to like the other one.
