I saw a rabbit yesterday after I brought my horse out of the stall. The rabbit (just an average wild bunny) put it's front feet on the farm gate and watched the horse as I hand grazed him in the barnyard. Bunny hopped up to the horse and went around behind him. It was 6 feet away from me. I decided to put the horse back out and bunny followed into the pasture. It stopped at the salt block for a taste and then followed me back in as I went back toward the car. It was almost like someone had tamed a wild bunny and let it loose. Maybe they did.

A large turtle walking towards the traffic the other day on the way to work. At first I thought it was just something dark near the road but it moved, and as I got closer I thought it may be a skunk. Nope, it was a huge turtle, walking right into busy morning traffic. Poor turtle, I hope he turned around and went back the way he came.

I was in the Critical Care Unit with DH last night. He was not awake yet so I was just chattering away at him when a robot came onto the floor and started talking- it kept saying "Your delivery is here" until a nurse poked at the keyboard. It thanked her! Then turned itself around and left. I just stood there dumbfounded. The nurse started to laugh and said that was how medication was brought into the unit. It even takes the elevator! It talks and if you cross it's path it asks you to please move, and then says thank you when you do. It runs to different floors to and from the pharmacy. DH was calling it R2D2 today, he got a huge kick out it as he is a major SciFi fan.

How cool about the rabbit. I saw one the other day up against the pasture fence at the edge of the woods, and it was so big that I thought it was a cat. Probably what they call a swamp rabbit...it was bigger than a cotton tail. I watched it with binoculars.

I saw two alligators in the bayou yesterday. One was my usual "resident" gator and the other, smaller one, showed up and was "escorted" away by the big one. The small one took one look and was glad to go.

Kath, the turtle was most likely a female. They head out to find a place to lay their eggs this time of year. It is so sad to see them hit by cars, and it happens a lot.

My mom and I saw a really faint rainbow stretching across the sky today. It was not an arc, it was straight across. And there was no rain anywhere. It was a beautiful bly sky with clouds here and there. We pulled off the road and took pictures but I don't know how they turned out, because the rainbow was pretty faint. It was the neatest thing, though.

I just got done loading the pictures of the rainbow from my phone, and it was actually a rainbow around the sun! How cool is that? We couldn't tell that when we saw it earlier.

Seen nothing odd, but sitting on my front porch about 9, I had a grasshopper jump on my head, AND THEN, heard sounds in the woods, like a bird nest had been invaded, by possibly a raccoon or something and lot of fussing going on by a bothered bird. protecting it's babies.

Mickey, I saw an odd rainbow this week too. It was not in the shape of an arc, it was in a cloud--it just looked like a rainbow cloud. I was outside with the kids at the school where I work, and the kids enjoyed seeing it as well. It had not been raining (for weeks).

The previous day I was outside with a different group of kids, and we saw a swarm of bees over the classroom. We went inside right away. Then the bees assembled in a tree (is it still called a swarm then?). Anyway they all clumped up, big as a basketball. So we had to rope off the area so kids would not approach, and someone came and got the bees in the evening. I hope they did not kill them.

One of the guys at work took this photo a couple weeks ago with his phone. The rainbow stretched across our office campus and was so clear we could nearly see both ends. His phone of course wasn't wide enough to get it all. Our CEO liked it so much he sent the photo out to everyone in the company via email in case they missed it.

Lots of noise the other evening. I went outside to investigate and found a Woodpecker on the metal cap of our chimney banging his fool head off! Went on for about 20 minutes and then he moved on. Sounded like a jack hammer on our roof!

DH and I own the property next door. My sis from Maine stays there when she is in town. When she was here in April, I was at that house with both sis's. They opened the door leading down to the basement and suddenly began chattering.

"Oh, my gosh! What is that?" and "Oh, crap!"

I stepped between them and looked down the stairs. There on the bottom step was a cottontail rabbit. It wasnÂt a baby, either! It was a full-grown hare making itself right at homeÂhopping down the step onto the basement floor and looking around. We managed to catch it in a storage tub and set it free outside.

NO, we werenÂt consuming alcohol that evening! And we could find NO conceivable way (the next day) that the darn thing could have gotten in.

The only thing we can figure is that we stumbled onto the Easter Bunny, who had apparently either gotten lost or was simply resting up before hiding all those eggs on Sunday. Hey, you got a better explanation?

okwriter's story reminded me of something that happened a few years ago. I went down one day to root around for some items in a dark corner of the basement. I put my hand onto a cloth that was covering an old bookcase and something hissed and jumped at me! I was terrified! It turned out to be the neighbor's huge tomcat that we could only conclude snuck into the house when we had the door propped open to bring some things in four days before. Strangely, he seems to even have hidden himself successfully from my own two cats whose litter box was in the basement. We had an ordeal trying to wrestle him from the corner but boy did he shoot out the house in a streak when he saw the door open and the path clear!

A tiny ant carrying the small blue blossom of a forget-me-not. Was he taking it to his sweetheart?

Two people walking about 3 or 4 dogs. One of the dogs was rather large and it was walking along carrying in it's mouth the head of a child's stick horse. So funny as the head was pretty big.

The girl with the blue hair reminded me of something I saw that was odd. I was at Cracker Barrell and the girl in front of me in the line to pay had tattoos of seams down the backs of her legs. It looked like she was wearing hose with seams.
I had to strain my eyes to tell that she wasn't wearing hose.
Fortunately, my daughter was with me, and she saw it too, and later I asked her if it was indeed a tattoo, and she said, yes, it was. Pretty cool, actually.

A really big beaver in my garage. My garage is a becon for wild animals.

I wish I had taken a photo- Sammie, the black cat, came in from outside, damp from the rain. I was running my hand over him when I felt something weird and looked and I had picked up off of him a teeny, tiny slug, about 1/3" long with those 2 perfect tiny little horns on it's head. It was adorable. I was pinned by Sammie so Woody took it outside for me. I wish I knew where, I want his picture!

We had a luna moth the other day, it was in perfect condition! Haven't seen one here for a couple of years, been missing them.

I have no idea where he came from. I'm pretty sure our pond doesn't have a single beaver. Very weird.

I was walking by a small stream in my village and stopped to watch a bevy of swallows work an open section. Those little birds were a flash of speed with dating manauvers. One would swoop down and whiz a short length of the stream and then pull up at the last instant to avoid an overhanging bush. And then, it would dive again and sweep the stream in the opposite direction. What amazed me was it was at least 10 birds working the same space while flying in opposite directions. I wondered how they kept from crashing into one another; What rules of the road were they using? I wasn't able to determine anything other than their extremely quick reflexes and they did limit the number of birds passing through the hunt zone at the same time. Any misquito in that zone did not stand a chance.

Another one today. On the way to go greenhouse hopping, my Mom and I saw five big Turkey Vultures sitting on the roof of a house, one on top of the chimney. We thought we were in a horror movie.

the last really cold spells in april, 2 fridays we were at the bank drive thru...this lady was walking her dog who was wearing 4leg long-johns, and a hat! omg, it was the funniset thing ever...

These are all fun to read, you never know what you will see. The other day a friend looked over at a stoplight and the guy next to her was drumming on his trap set while waiting for the light to turn. Here I thought texting while driving was dangerous.
