Polyurithane mouldings shrink due to cold weather?

Hi,

I have installed Polyurethane crown moldings in my house last month as a part of painting. I put cocking on edges and joints during installation. Today I observed the gaps between the molding joints and between wall and the molding. This is happened to second floor and foyer which is exposed to attic. First floor moldings are OK. Do these moldings shrink due to cold weather? Is I fix these gaps with cocking material, is it a problem in summer?

Thanks for the advice.
