washing microfiber cleaning cloths
Comments (7)I wash mine with my bath and kitchen towels. I don't use dryer sheets or fabric softener with those, so it hasn't been a problem. I usually just put them on the drying rack, since they are not cotton and do develop some static. You probably want to wash them even though they don't appear dirty. Those little fibers are what is catching stuff even though you can't see it, like with traditional cleaning cloths. Mine smell sour pretty quickly when I've tried to use one for more than one day. Just easier for me to throw them in with the rest of the wash. Gloria...See MoreClothes getting odd stains in the wash??
Comments (12)Hi Kim, I hate to say this, but your machine may be having problems with the bearings. A similar situation has happened with my clothes - dark brown streaks and 'dots' (in the pattern of the holes inside the drum) and oily looking stains just like yours. It started out slowly but within a couple of weeks got much worse. So I had the repair man come in today - he said that the bearings were noisy and worn out, due to too much soap, and/or not the right kind of soap (I was using a bit or regular detergent and always cold water). So the lubricant from the damaged bearings are leaking into the wash drum. Unfortunately, not only have I not been able to get the stains out of some of my favorite white clothes, it's not worth it to fix my washer. It'll cost a minimum of $600 so I'm better off getting a new one. My machine's a Frigidaire Gallery which is only 7 years old. I recommend you have someone look at your machine as soon as possible, before any warrantees run out. Good luck! Lorraine...See MoreHow To Get A Clean Wash With A Samsung FL
Comments (15)When we purchased our Samsung, I thought I had done my homework and selected the most trouble free machine that I was aware of. That was before I found out about the problems that are inherent in modern ecological philosophy. Now, I really don't know which manufacturers to trust can get the job done. You are getting a large capacity machine, I believe. That will limit your choices. I might look at the Maytag large capacity top loader and see if a model has controls that will let you adjust the amount of water and temperature of wash and rinse. But that is just a guess. Since Samsung greatly exaggerated the capacity of my machine I don't trust them. And I'm not sure if they know how to make the soap, bleach, conditioner dispenser work. Remember, they are using very little water to wash the clothes. How do they get all the soap out of the soap dispenser and still dilute the bleach sufficiently, and completely rinse it out. The difference between solid and liquid detergent dispensing on mine is a plastic piece that you slide up for solid and down for liquid. There is no seal around the edges of that piece, like rubber etc. So if the liquid is thin enough it can leak under it. Then all your liquid detergent seems to be used in the prewash cycle. It is stuff like that, along with bad performance, that soured me on it. Many others are really happy with theirs and I am a bit of a worrywart, so be warned....See MoreOT- Charlies soap not getting clothes clean
Comments (9)I just got some Charlie's Soap too. I haven't used it a long time, but have noticed my whites are much brighter and I do like the way they smell. Also, my FL has a much fresher scent to it! Our clothes aren't really dirty, but I do use fairly warm/hot water when washing mostly because our hot water tank is set higher than most because we take long showers and my DH likes hot water. I do pretreat with the liquid Charlies general purpose, but most of our clothes are just normal dirt. My kids are past the grass stains and food spills for the most part. I had been using the Tide Free or Cheer before. I really dislike some of the scents the commercial laundry soaps have. When my nephews come to visit, I'm amazed at the over powering scent of their laundry when I open their suitcase! I'd be interested in hearing what the Charlie's Soap people have to say if you contact them. Do you have hard water? I did see a note on their website about hard water, but didn't pay much attention since we have city water....See Moreczechchick2
