Just for fun, a listing with tons of photo. Decluttering anyone?

My sister sent me this Houston area listing. We both went through the "declutter-sell-your-house" nightmare and still enjoy looking at r/e listings. This is a beautiful home but oh my gosh, I just wanna knock 90% of the crap off the shelves, lol.

Maybe a little unfair to post this since I don't even know who these people are, but I couldn't resist. The photos are priceless.

Way too much stuff but a great looking house. It looks neat and clean, I could overlook all the clutter. This could be a great buy for someone because lots of people couldn't.

I didn't see a price; did I just miss it?

OMG!!!! How long will it take for them to pack all that stuff?!! I love it! but I wouldn't want to dust all that stuff.

That is one house I want to see empty for my walk through, just to make sure they are all packed and gone.

I would definitely request a functioning remote thermometer. I have one but it never seems to read when the main control is inside. I think maybe it's too far away. And I'm constantly focused on the temps. So it's quite frustrating not to be able to tell what's going on in there. FROM INSIDE MY HOUSE That about a hundred other things :)

Hmmm--George Clooney, eh! Well, in my case "appearance" can't enter in cause I haven't met anyone that "tied into" hosta other than Davemidohio! Not that he wouldn't qualify, mind you, and he is outspoken, which I like! I appreciate "outspokeness" when done respectfully and with some intelligence and knowledge of the subject being discussed. Not sure I think "George Clooney" always does that IMHO, but he does "look" good! All that to say, I really don't have a nominee that would fit the standard presented! "Sexy" is always in the "eye" and "mind" of the beholder so I would nominate my husband, of course!!!! :O) He may not be so "into" hosta yet, but, he is becoming more and more "appreciative"of the plant! Sorry, Teresa, probably not what you wanted from me! LOL janice

Congrats, Midnight. Growing a clivia to blooming size from seed is a great accomplishment. I hope you'll start a separate thread with pics once the blooms are open. Great plants! Socks, Disneyland and I have a lot in common, heh heh, and no, not because I'm "goofy"! I like a lot of the plants they use, and how they create such cheerful/jarring combinations. I just planted a bare root 'Disneyland' rose, which, while not jarring, is certainly perky like the many they have planted there. I've been gardening since I was five years old and have reached the point where I just plant what I enjoy and what makes me smile, so "tastemakers" be damned, lol. The brighter, taller, and stinkier, the more I like my orange marigolds. I actually struggle to find non-dumpy dwarf types. Usually I get them from Select Seeds or Seeds of Change...what about you? I made my list by making each item into a simple task. I could easily have written bathrooms as one task but that turned into 4 items: each bathrooms drawers and each one's under the sink. But my house needs decluttering more than organizing this year. That's why this is working for me now. Last year, however, when I did my organizing for the first time in many years, my list had items such as computer stuff, stationery, maps, my personal papers, etc. I first picked an area for each item to be in. Then I went around the house and garage and searched out the item from the list that I was working on. I could never get into prioritizing. I just sat down one day and made a list of all the places (or items) that needed attention. Then I numbered them. I just pick at random an item from the list and do it. In my mind, I know which jobs are larger than others and pick one depending on what else I have to do that particular day. I find that giving myself, for example, 2 hours to finish a job puts pressure on me. Sometimes that 2 hours turns into 1 hour and other times, it can be 4. Then I put a check mark next to it once it's done. In my mind they're all important so one doesn't need to be the first. Well, that's not quite true. In the past, I've had company coming for supper and I made sure my pantry and fridge were presentable. Sometimes, I end up doing items I'd forgotten to put on my list. Then I just add them to the bottom of the list after they're done and check it off. No matter which list I've made, it never took much longer than 10 or 20 minutes to do the list and it all fit on one piece of paper.

I've never seen so much STUFF in my life!

It's charming and cozy in a way, but she took a 4,000 SF house and made it look like 1,400 SF...

Bet she'd got a storage facility full of more and more stuff!

I showed the pictures to my DW and she's ready to move to Houston to buy that house now, lol. You can't get a 2br condo for that price here! Although the way the market is headed, you may be able to by next year, lol.

Love the house! I like lots of 'stuff' too, but this is a little over the top, even for me.

They're probably selling because she wants a bigger house for MORE stuff. LOL ;o)

That is some house! You can't get that for $400K here and we are considered a cheap area for housing!

Wow. I told my husband next time we move I don't care what it costs, we are having the movers pack us. In this place it would be a must! Could you imagine a quick close?

Exactly what I thought when I went back to give it a better look. We rented a garage sized storage shed for my stuff, hubby wouldn't think I had so much if he saw this LMAO!

If I had a basement it wouldn't be so bad. My stuff fit in a small corner of my dad's attic; how I wanted that house *sniff Can't wait to sell and have my stuff back out.

Wow, someone has a SERIOUS shopping habit. Can you imagine the amount of time it took to shop for, purchase, bring home, unwrap, display and dust all that stuff? It exhausts me just thinking about it.

She has great taste. Just too much of it!

The irony is that the library full of bookshelves is probably the least cluttered looking room in the house.

I too thought that someone needs to get a new hobby because the shopping thing has gone a bit far. Wow! and now this seller will probably get really excited if their agent can see how many hits the listing is getting! She'll probably be posting here next week wondering why she's getting so many hits but no showings ;)

Oh, I'd love to go to their pre-move yard sale! Especially if she decided to part with some of those dishes. I collect midi-1800s Mulberry & I can see a couple pieces in the china cabinet.....

I also saw stuff and wondered why she would allow photos of some of it to be included in the listing. I guess she doesn't realize that someone may be watching her house to steal some of it. Some of the 1st things that got packed up were my valuable collectibles.

I think it is beautiful and yes it is a bit much but the home looks well tended and very clean. I think I would have packed some away though- some of the pieces look fragile and expensive- i like it though

Triciae, couldn't agree more with what a great yard sale it would probably be. She's probably 'tired' of some of her things and wants to go out and buy more. Obviously she has too much money, too much time on her hands, or both! ;o)

Dustcatchers everywhere!

I showed it to DH, who glanced at it and said, "It looks like Cracker Barrel."

I love the pool!! Very peaceful.

Oh, and who doesn't love some wine while doing laundry!! LOL!
