I love to have it built. At present it's in the box.....

I would like a doorway that stops time when you enter the greenhouse. Then I could be in there all day without ever thinking about other things I could/should be doing instead.

Santa, please include a shoe horn with the 1000 plants for Orchiddude. :-)

I too would like JUST to have it built...and a thousand plants, I could handle that...and the doorway thing, well that's a given, nothing else to think about or do when I'm in there...I'd like for all my plants to grow and be happy and healthy and I'd like to have magical tomatoe plants that give me tasty tomatoes all year round with no bugs and no diseases...in fact, I'd like for there to be a ready made grocery store, right in my GH, with all the things I love ot cook with, basil, parsley, garlic, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers...and all of that can be surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants....And my ferns would all stay green and full in my GH...

Oh ya, and I'd like for it all to function smoothly, perfectly balanced temps, moisture etc...and with all the cool gadgets you guys talk about on here...

I think I will just move in and live in this GH....Btt mainly I just want it to be built :)

aaahh man Santa I have been a very good little girl! All I want is a large electric heater to keep my greenhouse at 40 deg. In addition, since I have been a good girl, bring some racking for me as well. please. I promise to share my wealth of plants with all my friends. :)

I'm still harvesting tomatoes and a few peppers. The days are so short now only the patio tom has blossoms. The oregano and basil are still growing. The ferns under the tables are still lush and green and the impatiens are covered in blossoms. The geraniums are taking a breather and the orchids are all spiking. Interesting place a GH.... :)

I meant a shoe horn like you use to help slip a foot into a too-tight shoe with no spare room, since your previous gh photos look pretty full already. But then again, maybe you could slip another thousand plants in there with no trouble at all!

Mudhouse...I get it now. I was thinking, "why a shoe horn", I understand, and No, I dont think I have room, but it would be fun trying. I might have a little room left.

Its kinda like Japan in the GH, no space, so I have to build upward.

Just give me a GH just like Greenhousers GH then :) And as many plants as orchiddudes and cool benches like Mud's and a pretty perimeter of raised bed planters filled with fragrant flowers and bulbs...

BTW...I was one of those 75% off-er's at Lowes and now have 300 tulips to plant, probably 50 hyacinth's, several bags of ranoculous, inixia? or something like that (they looked pretty) crocus, freezia, paperwhites...the list goes on...well maybe that's the whole list, but there are lots of them...I had really hoped for my GH to be further along now, so I could put them all in the raised bed planters I intend to put around the GH...

I'm gonna see if there is any way to do the beds and still have access to the GH for further construction...maybe put something over the top of the bed so we can walk on it, instead of the ground where the bulbs will be....(ideas welcome here)

I'll wish for just ONE more thing...I'd like to stop talking about this "futuristic" GH and start having conversations on stuff going on INSIDE of it,

I just WANT a greenhouse! Can't afordto buy a prefabed one, so Santa baby...could ya PLEASE just drop off the wood and oter materials (8-10 mil polycarb panels, fasteners, insulation for foundation, insulation for north wall, etc....and I'll build it in the Spring when the ground thaws...I promise!!!!

It'd getting kind of late to plant bulbs. You need to get them in the ground PRONTO!!!!

Just like some others.. i just want mine finished.
Its only been 2 years since i started and it isn`t that big :)

If I could have just ONE thing it'd be Tefzel Plastic that came in regular greenhouse film size at a reasonable price.

Top 10 list?

- A 500 Gallon in ground water tank
- Time to finish the GH (like some of you, mine's been 2+ years now)
- A nice compact tractor to haul horse manure from the barn to the GH.
- A working biodiesel-from-algae system so I don't have to buy fuel for the new tractor I'm wishing for...
- A small homestead sized grinder/hammermill/pellet machine that cost less than $10,000 (cheapest I have found is ~$70K) so I can make "wood" pellets to heat the greenhouse.
- A solar panel breakthrough that costs less than one season's worth of heating fuel to set up a system to keep the GH nice and warm or at least run the fans, monitoring equipment and toys.
- A (Cheap!) power line running from the barn to the GH so I won't have to think of creative pie-in-the-sky-hair-brained schemes that are sure to cost me more money in the end than if I just ran the power out there.
- I would like to be able to think of only ONE pie-in-the-sky-hair-brained scheme at a time.
- Permission to take the trees down on my neighbor's land that shades my GH in early morning late evening.
- A single entity that would consolidate ALL regulatory paperwork into a simple 3rd grade level booklet and a government that understands that the more fees and restrictions they add without requiring the same from imports reduces our ability to produce competitively.

I would also like to have a 500 gallon water storage tank filled with water from my new reverse osmosis system complete with pump and new misting system!

I'd like 3 consecutive days of above-freezing temperatures without it blowing a houlie so that I can finish building it :)

Great idea for a thread - fun to read through and inspiring ... too much so!, lol.

I really, really wish I had a water line running to the greenhouse ... without having to rent a trencher and dig up and then repair 75' of lawn.

OK, on a more realistic note, my family has my wish list: That new label maker that makes plant labels that will stand up to the elements (or so they say), thermostat for the heater, heat mat for starting seeds and cuttings, new auto vent opener that sits flush with the roof so I don't have a permanent bruise on my scalp. Oh, and a thermo/hygrometer with an alarm ... that doesn't cost a small fortune ... well, maybe this doesn't belong on the realistic list.

Mudhouse ... What? You mean your greenhouse door doesn't have that time-stopping feature? I thought that was standard on ALL freestanding greenhouses (it proved to be ineffective on the attached models). You'd better check ... there might be something seriously wrong there.

Poppa, I hear you regarding neighboring trees. The ones I deal with are deciduous, so no problem for my greenhouse but most of my plants, shrubs and trees leeeannn to the east since the neighbor to the east removed several trees, while the one to the west did not ... and our lot's only 50' wide. An 8' tall rhododendron on the east boundary line used to be balanced and lovely from any angle, but now we look at its pitiful "backside" as it puts out most new growth (and flowers) toward the east. Sorry, that has nothing to do with greenhouses or garden structures ... just empathizing ... and venting :-)

Diane, my door isn't right. Time seems to stop when I go in, but when I come out, it's obvious it really hasn't. I want the one that lets you go in at 10AM, spend three blissful hours, and come out at 10AM. :-)

Failing that, a big tank for rainwater would be great, with a line going into the greenhouse, and a handy spigot.

And if everyone's wishes aren't granted on Christmas Day, here's hoping they will materialize sometime in 2008!

All my plants are now enjoying rain water. I lined up a load of 30g pond plant propagation tanks under the eves of the GH and outbuilding. With every rain, even a light rain, they refill. I also filter the rain water for my humidifiers. Our water here is horribly alkaline and very, very hard.

I'm hoping to get my exhaust fan for the Rion next spring some time.

I got a cha cha cha chia herb kit.... and one lady gave me a 1/2 gallon of used coffee grounds and used tea bags. (she knows I compost as I take the office coffee grounds home). Gee, the lump of coal has been replaced!!!!

Whenever I read a post on this forum asking "what do you want" or "how should I build", my advice is to build at least 50% bigger than you planned. Once you have a greenhouse, you are going to buy more plants. Merry CHRISTmas, everyone!!!

I would like a good quality exhaust fan for the Rion.

I would definitely request a functioning remote thermometer. I have one but it never seems to read when the main control is inside. I think maybe it's too far away. And I'm constantly focused on the temps. So it's quite frustrating not to be able to tell what's going on in there. FROM INSIDE MY HOUSE

I would like a Victorian Wrought Iron and Glass Greenhouse, that had a heating and ventilation system. Of course I would need a larger lot, because I don't have room for even a tiny greenhouse.(:-(
